Back in high school I used to do heaps of HAED style things with over 75 threads etc... but life got well life like. So after years of small projects no bigger than the palm of my hand I am slowly working on larger more complex things.

I'm working on the beautiful Lady In Blue from Cross Stitcher Annual 2001 by Sandy Littlejohn.

I couldn't wait to order linen online and instead used Aida that I had already...

here's my progress

Thanks all this is my practice piece for getting ready to do one of Joan Elliots designs well in the end hopefully four of them!

Thank you so much for all your encouragement and praise... I still sort of wish I had done it on linen (I'm real snobby about aida) Unfortunately she has been put down for a bit as I have found everything for my Turkish wedding sampler I started over 4 years ago.... guess I'll have to finish it for our 4th wedding anniversary instead of for our wedding!

Thanks, in the magazine they used a similar shade of linen... I had this aida laying around and am trying to use up stash...
