a beautiful sampler beautifully stitched. It is the sort of timeless piece that will be as treasured as an heirloom in future years as it is now.

My most recent finish! This is a birthday gift for my SIL. The subject focuses on thing T-Rex is good or bad at, mostly due to the length of his arms. :D

I found the pattern on Etsy and thought it was super cute. The pattern calls for all DMC, but I substituted Weeks Dye Works Envy for the main green in the t-rexes. I thought the variation would look likes scales.

Now it's back to the Nursery Rhyme Sampler (baby's due in September!) and my Quilts of Cape Cod. Plus another small baby gift. Plus all of the other projects I want to start. :)

This is my latest new start. I needed a break from the Nursery Rhymes and all of it's devilish backstitching. I'll return to it soon enough, but it's nice to have a change of pace.

This piece is called Tribal Elephant by White Willow Stitching. Here's what it will look like when it's done (except for I'm using different fabric/floss).

http://www.123stitch.com/item/White-Wil ... /WW000-265" target="_blank" target="_blank

I'm making this for my husband's step-grandmother who really loves elephants. :) I hope to have it done before Christmas of this year. It should be a relatively quick stitch given its size, because it's monochromatic and just straight cross stitching. Not a single fractional stitch or French knot in sight! :D

I started this today on my lunch break and will work on it some this weekend while we are out of town, as it should travel well. Then it will be back to the Nursery Rhymes. Here's what I have done so far.

Image

I'm starting in the lower left corner. I'm stitching 2 over 2 on 28ct vintage patina linen by Lakeside Linens. The photo does not do the fabric justice at all, so click the link to get a better idea of the color. It's a pale green that reminded me of safari grass. My fabric is a bit greener than the picture in the link, though. I'm using GAST floss in Soot. I wanted a dark grey so it would really stand out on the fabric.
