So a couple of days ago I had my little stitching emergency where I realized that I hadn't even thought of making something for my good friend who is getting married early next year. Thanks to your help, I was able to get inspired about what kind of design I wanted to make and find this design by Ink Circles, which I ordered.



I've decided to change the colors to reds, oranges, etc as my friend is marrying an Indian man and will have a traditional Indian wedding. It is most common for an Indian bride to wear red, because of all of the great things it symbolizes.

So here's the fabric and colors I picked.



The colors are a mix of GAST, WDW, and Crescent Colours, plus a Belle Soie silk thrown in for good measure. I had the best time running around crazy at my LNS pulling a million hues of red, orange, yellow, and gold. The fabric is 30ct Coconut Macaroon, which is now quickly becoming my go to neutral. It is perfect for showing of bright and bold colors, but it has so much more richness to it than cream or white. I'm stitching another project on it right now, and it's AMAZING to stitch on. Perfect in every way.

In the process of running around trying to gather supplies for this project, a few other things popped into my shopping pile, like these two charts (one I needed to finish a series I have, so that doesn't count right?), and wasn't I surprised to find the new DMC colors in my pile at checkout! Those weren't even on display yet, but they were calling to me all the same, so home with me they went.

I think the fabric and colors you chose are perfect. Can't wait to see you stitching it. The samplers look like great fun to do. And the one that finishes a series doesn't count since your other pieces would be incomplete without it.

So I put in quite a few stitches this weekend to get this kitty finished up. This is the first of two kitties for my husband's stocking. Next time I'll take a better picture, but I'm too tired to mess with lighting and stuff. It's much more vibrant in person. One more kitty to go, plus the top of the stocking with his name and it will be done! Ready to get this one of my WIP list.

Finally, a finish!!!

This is the Tribal Elephant piece that I am doing for my husband's step-grandmother. I really wanted to have it done by Christmas. I'm not sure if I can get it framed by then, but I will try! Either way, I'm glad that it's done. All that grey was starting to drive me crazy! I'm excited to switch to my other projects now, like the kitty stocking which also needs to be finished by Christmas.
