3 houses - FINISHED 3/14/14!!

Post by starshine123102 »

Here is another series project that I'm starting back up again. This piece I finished last summer:
Image

I've just started the second in the series tonight. I don't have much done yet, but this is what it's going to look like:
Image

It's a really fun project, there's a lot of embellishment on it: wool fabric, buttons, beads, DMC memory thread. When I finish all three pieces I'm going to have them framed in one huge frame....it'll be interesting to see how big it is!

Re: 3 houses update 9/19/13

Post by starshine123102 »

I haven't had much time to stitch, except during my lunch breaks, but here is the first bit of what I have for the second of the three houses.

Image

Looking back on my first house, I think I am going to rip out a lot of the backstitching and redo it. When I did it, I didn't realize that backstitches should be done stitch by stitch and not in chunks, and the backstitching is very loose since i went over so many threads. Hopefully it won't be too difficult since there isn't a lot of it, but in the end it'll be worth it because all three pieces will match. :anotherfrog: :anotherfrog: :anotherfrog:

That looks great, and i'm sorry to hear about having to unpick the backstitching of your last project. I was similar to you, I never went over 4 stitches, but now, I only do 2 stitches at a time, to keep in tight. AIN'T NO BODY GOT TIME FOR THAT. (one square at a time) I know some of you here do, but not me. I was born lazy. Back stitching really is not my favourite thing.

But sorry rant over, your work looks great, and I see nothing wrong with your backstitching on your first project. I am no expert thou. But i'm sure others would agree it looks good?

They're so cheerful and upbeat looking ... and I especially love the squiggly lines coming from the sun. :D
