Susan's HOED!

Post by SusanF »

With this week being half term and the children all busy with friends and revision (definitely in that order) I've had lots of time to get restarted with my HAED so thought I should start a SIP thread for it - although it may be some time before I get to the end of this thread. I wonder how many of us will still be participating in this forum by the time I finish??

I've managed to complete my first column of 10x10s on my first page.

Image

And to put it in context, here's how little that actually is ..

Image

I'm going to have to learn to be patient with this one I think.

Look at what you've done already, not at the blank fabric -- it's beautifully shaded, and such an achievement! And don't worry, we'll all hang on to see this finished :-), cheering you on all the way :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:

This is great don't be discouraged so early think of it in terms of pages done is a project done. We will be in it to the end for you. I think it is wonderful. My mind is not what it used to be did you show us a finished picture of this in the other thread maybe. Could you show us again just to refresh old minds. I let mine off the leash and it has wandered away again. :shifty:

No I didn't show you a picture of it before Rose - I wondered when someone would ask :)

I had thought of hosting a competition to see who could figure out which one I was doing first, but it might take years before I have stitched enough clues!!

So here it is - it's called Cloak Of Stars.

That is gorgeous! You have my deepest admiration for being brave enough even to contemplate that, let alone actually starting it and getting in such quick progress. Well done :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:

Hurray for attempting such a huge project. :applesauce: I agree with the others set your goals in small achievements. One block, one page, one corner, whatever motivates you forward. Congratulations on the progress. We will be cheering you on all the way! :P

That is a stunning design. Don't focus on the empty fabric just focus on that 10x10 section and I am sure the time will fly by. I am looking forward to seeing this one grow it is stunning!

Well done, Susan, this a great endeavour (or... I am trying out the extremes of my vocabulary today, but I am not sure if you understand me...)

It's going to be beautiful! And it will be ready in no time, you'll see. Time will fly chatting to us!

Wow, Susan, that's going to be a beautiful piece when you're done! I love seeing your method of working through it and can't wait to see it come along! Yeah, it might take a while, but it looks like it'll be worth it in the end!

Amy Brown has cross stitch too? How on Earth did I not discover cross stitch till December. How many more amazing artists that I like are cross stitched?

Wonderful work, I wish you good luck with it, I know it's bee so difficult for you already and Amy Brown is not someone whose work goes easily into cross stitch so I imagine it's a rather complicated design.
