I would be really greatful if you can give me some advice on this guys...
I have tried stitching on black aida before, but found that when the design was finished, I could still see small spots of the black peeping through from behind the design. I have seen friends pictures with the same problems. Any advice??
Ive seen a beautiful design of a brightly coloured flower that I think would look great on black aida, but I dont want the black to show through my stitches!

I think this advice works on any colour aida, if you don't want to see the aida through it experiment on the count size as well as how many thread you use until you find what looks best to you.
Re: Stitching on black aida
I can't give you anything better then what the girls have already said.
I use 2 threads even on 14 count and then when I finish it....If I frame I put black paper behind it if it is going to be a pillow or something else I get black fabric to place behind it.

Re: Stitching on black aida
I've used 4 strands of thread on my project "Butterflies Galore" on 14ct. black aida cloth. I think it'll do the trick. It also emphasized the colors!

The other possible tip is to watch your tension, don't pull tightly. Making sure the stitches lie flat (perhaps railroading them) might also help.

I'm stitching the Jester on 18 count Aida, although those holes are a bit smaller it seems than 14 count, I use 2 strands and dont seem to have any problems.
