I think I will be reserving week-ends for my non HAED projects (that is the plan though I am sure I will change it by this week-end :P ). Started my Twisted Band Sampler and have completed 1 1/2 bands. It is being stitched on 32 ct cream Belfast Linen. The colors I have used so far are Victoria Clayton 1303 and 1307 Venus Mirror Premium Silk Floss. I almost wish I had stuck with good old DMC because I am really enjoying stitching with this. Not exactly sure what makes it feel so different (because its silk, of course), but it does and I am liking it a lot!

Till next week end then. Now off to get Shiver Meow Timbers so it will stop shrieking at me (Meow turn!! Meow turn!! very annoying  )

Thanks for looking

Gorgeous Carole, I knew you would love the silks!

Karen - when you are ready to buy the chart, you can get it as a PDF direct from Nicole on her Etsy store, just incase you preferred a PDF version : instant gratification :D .

:D LOL ---it's just a matter of price, been waiting for a sale, but so far, that's not happened, so I may just do the pdf---it's hard to say, 123stitch does ship so quickly
:D

Beautiful start! And I'm with you on silk floss, the Soie Cristale has been fantastic on my project.

Is this your first time with silks? If so, welcome to the world of tactile heaven and purse hell  They are lovely to work with though aren't they?

I am so in love with this pattern it's not even funny. It's not in my budget right now thanks to a floss purchase earlier this month, and anyways, I've got plenty on the go right now, but if things go as planned, I'll manage to get ahead on my SAL ornaments and I can work this into my schedule! I have great plans on playing with the colors for it..

Thank you everyone for your kind comments. Sam, this is my first time stitching with silk and I am so loving it. I've accumulated some silks (Dinky Dyes etc) from Stashmas and other gifts and now I find that a smaller craft box is needed for storing these. I joined the Fleur de Lys FB SAL and ordered some variegated Vickie Clayton HDF silks for that. When they arrive I'm sure I'll be getting started on it pretty quickly.

Smaller box?! Doubt it will be long before you'll need an upgrade - end up like me having several "ahem" larger boxes for storing each brand......... :D

Just buy a larger box to start with Carole, saves the hassles.

Love the colours you have chosen on your TBS, so pretty. :applesauce: :applesauce:

This is going to be absolutely beautiful. One thing that I do not have it silk floss and now I am jealous. I thought I was spoiling myself when I got some lovely gentle arts sampler threads and some other overdyed but now I know that I haven't spoiled myself enough lol. Hmmm anniversary next month... Anyway, can't wait to see further updates on this one.

Bands 1,2 and 3 completed. Stitching non HAEDs on the week-ends is so far working out perfectly. But then again, the question arises: which one do I stitch????? Oh well, this has been a lot of fun so far and I really like the alternating of the specialty stitches with the cross stitch.
