Love Blossoms Wedding Sampler - Finished finished 17.08.14

Some of you may remember I was looking for a non-denominational wedding sampler for some friends that are getting married later this year.

I had settled on a dragon dreams one but as time went on it didn't feel right, so i trawled online and found this had just come out

It totally feels right ad it has some gorgeous lace flowers, sequins and beads to attach

I wanted to get it on a frame and started so I put a few stitches in tonight after the fray check had dried on the fabric edges. I haven't gridded this one as I am hoping to not have to wash it. It feels so weird to be stitching on a larger count fabric - I hadn't realised how used I was to 18 count!



I've counted so I'm in roughly the right place to start on the trunk (maybe 1 or 2 stitches out but there is plenty of fabric). I'm going to work the trunk first, then the leaves. I was really surprised to find that the tree is mostly stitched in silver metallic thread (I think its Madeira) I'm impressed with how it behaves so far.

I've got quite a tight deadline on this as I only just got the invite with the final date on it - it needs to be done and framed by 14th August!

Good start (all new starts are good starts. Such a fun exciting feeling!) I love this pattern and will have to add it to my growing list for when my niece gets married. I am going to enjoy watching it develop.

I haven't actually had much time for stitching in amongst all the other things I've had to do over the easter break.

Anyways, here is where I left off today

I love how I can see the heart emerging in the centre.

I've had to do a bit of frogging already I shifted the branch that makes the top curve of the heart one stitch too far over. At first I was going to leave it but that would have effected not only the stitching coming from the right, but the rest of that tree on the left. Luckily it wasn't much to come out so I pulled it out then redid it today.

I have also decided I dislike whichever metallic they use in this kit (and I actually don't mind working with the DMC metallics - I know, weird) Whatever non metallic they blend it with just comes apart for me and ends up snapping or bunching up as I am stitching or some combination of the two no matter how short a length I use or how much thread heaven I coat it with. I love the effect though.

on the plus side I figured out how to loop the thread on my needle so I don't actually have a knot to deal with going through the fabby, but the thread stays on the needle!

Most of the tree is done now, the right hand side seems to be simpler with less branches and I can't wait to get some of the other colours on this

Beautiful!!! I love the effect of that metallic thread, but am sorry it gave you so much trouble. Worth it though. The heart shape of the tree is fantastic. Can't wait to see the colors too.

I've been working on this a lot lately so making some quick progress. I've been working on it mainly in the evenings when it is too dark to work on my castle as I can't see the holes on the 18 count so well.



I am absolutely LOVING this. I think its going to be difficult to give it up when the time comes!

the tree is done in all metallics now - there is a lot of backstitching to go in but I wont do that yet. I've prethreaded some needles ready to put the flowers and blossoms on. there are a few metallics dotted through the rest of the pattern but its mostly finished with now
