Niki's Quickies, horses and Christmas Village

Post by Fizzbw »

This was a reward for the whole dinosaur disaster! I love these kits, and they always seem to have enough for two.....*whistle*

I've finished her like my other Gorjuss designs, on mounting board with buttons and ribbons. I'm getting quite a little collection, and still more in my stash.

So precious!

Can I ask a question? I have two of these kits, do you stitch the crosses the way they suggest with bottom / and top \ ?
It's the opposite of what I usually do and wonder if that's going to cause a problem with the amount of thread used.
Thanks

I would say that as long as ylou use the # of threads that they call for the then you will use the same amount of thread. Which way you cross is not an issue.

Like Rose, you stitch the way you want to stitch, I always stitch with the bottom leg \ and the top leg / and wouldn't be able to change!! Though when I do half stitches I just do the top leg /

But these usually have full crosses, usually in 2 strands and background like where she is standing on were full crosses in one strand.

I doubt you'll come close to running out of floss on a Bothy threads kit, I think I have enough left over to do it all again. And I did mess up on her hair and did the outline with the black shiney floss not the grey....a much harder thing to do!!

Thanks all, it's very easy to enjoy these kits, I have another one out that I'm eyeing up as Frankel just isn't calling to me.......

So cute, Niki! I think I have a Gorjuss design that came in or with a magazine...might have to dig it out and give it a go.

It s a new one, called the lady bird. I got it on eBay, don't know if you are in the UK or not? There are several new ones out now, I loved this one especially.

Eta: just put Gorjuss cross stitch ladybird in eBay and you get this design straight up.

Frankel is really taking a holiday, don't know why but I'm in a real "must do easy stuff that makes a shape" mood rather than confetti! I've kitted together a lizzie*kate design ready to take on my "holiday" to my sisters in May. But I've started the Bothy Thread Kings and Queens of England (strange as I'm Welsh....) will post a pic tomorrow when I've finished Henry I....

I do get into a bit of bullying myself when it comes to rotations and finishing pages etc. but why should I? I have no deadlines, as long as I've marked out the charts well enough I can quite happily stop in the middle of a page! If I want to stitch something else I should just do it. Daft to add stress to myself!! Anyone else do this or am I just wierd and have too little to do so I make busy work in my head???

;)

Oh you are definitely not alone in this! I'm right there with you...plus, the WIP's I'm not working on seem to send me guilt-trip vibes. I hope I'm not the only one with that particular issue as well.
