I'm amazed by that, seeing how many other crafts you excel in! I thoroughly recommend finding a peg loom and having a go.

Lovely colours! (I always have trouble knowing which is the warp and which is the weft. Is the warp the fixed one and the weft the one you weave? That would make sens, actually!)

@ Mabel: yes, the warp is the thing around which the weft is woven. Generally (although not always) it's held horizontally under tension.

As promised. This shows the "back" and it's not far off finishing (about 28" of 32" length; 6"-ish width). I think it does look rather like old jeans. :)

:applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: I absolutely love this!!! The colors are so pretty and "old jeans" are very much in fashion.

Here is the completed cowl. Finished it in May, and the recipient is delighted (whew!). I keep fiddling with the (very simple) design, to make it both longer in length and slightly shorter in width. Or perhaps my neck is just very short?

Lovely subtle colours, and a useful item to boot! (Though perhaps not at the present time...)

Love this!!! What a wonderful gift! I'm in awe. Did you have any kind of pattern to follow? Or did your creative self design this. Congratulations on a beautiful finish!!!

:applesauce: :applesauce: These are so pretty. They remind me of a craft that we did in school to make lanyards. The device we used was different and we used regular yarn and turned them into key chains and even mats and small area rugs and other stuff too, I guess. These are much prettier though than anything I remember.

Thanks! I have a friend who makes jewellery, and we are trying to figure out how to make bracelets out of them with silver caps and lobster claws.

They will indeed, lovely colours - and so impressive how she gets the little motifs in!
