A couple of finishes......

Post by Mrs Milkybar Kid »

Here are my 11th and 12th finishes for the year - actually finished a finish which is something for me!
A freebie from Blackbird Designs stitched on 35ct Floba using a Ltd Ed silk from Thread Pickerz:

Souvenir de France by Blackbird Designs

And Red Riding Hood by The Primitive Hare stitched on 36ct Edinburgh using the recommended threads - except for the snowflakes, they are stitched using petite silk lamé braid for a hint of sparkle :).

Next up to get finished is Hortus V.........

Excellent finishes. Is it me, or does the whole Grimm's Little Red Riding Hood seem to be undergoing a shift?

What's floba like to work with? (The finish is fabulous!)

Thank you all! Wendy neither design is French, Blackbird Designs are American and The Primitive Hare is Italian - but I totally get what you mean by the style!

Serinde I LOVED the Floba! This was a little test piece to see how I got on with it as I am planning on stitching a reproduction sampler next year and was auditioning fabrics. It is a fine fabric, with the look of linen but without the slubs and has a lovely feel about it. I know some stitchers don't see the point of linen mixes, but I will definitely be using it more in the future!
