I heard Thread Heaven is discontinued.

I’m heading to Michael’s to try to find something before I destroy this stocking in utter frustration. So.Fed.Up.

Do the DMC thread colours bleed into the was?

Are there any specific brands people do, or do not recommend. (Web site says they sell THE BEAD BUDDY® THREAD MAGIC® THREAD CONDITIONER. I do not know for certain they will have this, or they may have other options.)

How about beeswax? It is a natural material, which is always nice
I could send you a small piece to try if you like? (I get small wax hearts to put in kits, so I've got plenty)

Where do you buy bees wax? What kind of store?

I buy it from shops that supply goldwork materials, but a quick look at Sew & So shows they have it too, in a container with little slits for the threads for ease of use.

I use beeswax too for metallic threads. I get mine from the lady in our market who sells Delicious Honey. Free! When I asked her if she had some it took her a while to understand what i would use it for, so I took some threads along to demonstrate and she gave me a Lump! (about 3" Square)
That'll last me I thought!!

After checking a few stores, I decided to check a bead store.

They had a small container of bees wax with the slits. It was actually in the leather work aisles. I assume for adding beads to leather.

If it's anything like bookbinding, the thread is passed through the beeswax to help lubricate it as it passes through the holes giving it a little protection from friction-damage, it helps reduce the likelihood of it snapping.

I love the smell of beeswax, and bought a bar years ago just to enjoy sniffing it! When I started bookbinding it was nice to have a bar ready in stock

Wow! What a wealth of information on this post. I use a lot of Kreinik. I use short strands and I give myself an extra inch of thread at both ends of the needle. I also use DMC's E-series. Very easy to use. I don't need the Thread Heaven with them and I use long strands.

I just recently purchased the DMC's Diamont threads; however, I have yet to work with them. They are very fine threads.
