I haven't quite finished the first page, but I'm putting this down for now, as Sunken Treasures is calling to me.

I've been really enjoying stitching it and now have the tip of the cat's ear with some whiskers, plus a little bit of a fish.

Great progress!!

There's a Sunken Treasures design I found when I was looking at the Millennium that I just fell in love with. I was hoping to find it somewhere here in the US but so far no luck. Since I've never even heard of Sunken Treasures until I saw it, I don't know if their kits are good quality, but I'm guessing since you're doing one they are. Right?

I found this one at a show and fell in love with the stitched example. I can never remember the name of it, something like bow sampler, so I just call it the Sunken Treasures one as I like the sound of that.
The kit isn't bad. There's a decent-sized photo of the finished piece, plus a clear chart that's in colour. You get two needles, one of which is for beading, plus the beads are separated so only two colours are in each bag. Those are clearly labelled. There seems to be plenty of thread, which came on a labelled card, although I won't know how generous they are until I've finished and can see how much is left.

The instructions are clear, with each band being numbered on the chart, and the relevant part of the instructions being numbered also. The separate diagrams on doing the various stitches are ok. I've seen better, but I've also seen a lot worse. They do the job, which is all that matters really.

I'd buy another of their kits, so if you manage to find one, I'd say go for it.

Which one do you have your eyes on?

The one I'm drooling over is this one: http://needleneeds.co.uk/store/sue-dani ... &results=1" target="_blank

You've convinced me that it's something to definitely consider, so it will remain on my wish list. I have so many other things to do first I'm going to hold off a bit longer and hope they still have it when I'm ready, and maybe I'll eventually find it in the US. Thanks for the info. :-)

That one is lovely! I had a browse on their website earlier and found several samplers that I wouldn't mind :)

I've finished the next, and final, page for the Flower Sampler Book. Hooray!

Image

I rather liked doing the Pattern Darning, which is something that I haven't done before. Even the simplest patterns are fun to do and I think they look really pretty.

A couple of close-ups so you can see more detail, including the Bullion knot caterpillar :)

All I need to do now is a bit of titivating such as adding beads and charms, and then assemble the book. I'm going back to my other WIPs for a couple of weeks first though.

Oh so beautifully stitched. They are gorgeous and congratulations on the caterpillar, Bullion stitch has always been my downfall.

Off the top of my head, there are eight double pages, two single (for the inside covers) and the cover itself. I've been working on it for a couple of years now so it will be brilliant to have it finished at last.

I have another one to do themed on strawberries, but I think I'll be waiting a while before starting it.

I've done some more on the sampler from Sunken Treasures. All the top is stitched now, I just need to do the bottom and add the rest of the beads. I've only done the beads in the centre so far as I have to wait until Sammie is having a nap upstairs.

Image

Sammie isn't very happy with us at the moment. She went to see the vet yesterday to get spayed. She's obviously not feeling too good and is milking it for all she's worth.

Image

Apart from when she managed to get on top of her tree this morning, she's taken up residence on the sofa next to me. I've not even attempted to get my stitching out as she's being a bit needy and wants lots of fuss. Poor little girl
