Mabel, where is that idea from- that it was bought? I have heard "Why did you spend so much money on it? I know it is expensive as it is hand work" more than once giving away my tablecloths or tablerunners. To be honest, such reaction irritates me. It sounds as if the receiver does believe that someone did it, but it would not occur to her/him that it was you(me) who made it. Anyway, this butterfly is a masterpiece. :applesauce:

Lyudmila, knowing my friend well I am quite confident that she meant it in no way denigratingly. She knows I stitch but for various reasons she hasn't seen very much of my embroidery, so I think it's rather a compliment that she felt it looked so professionally done it must have been bought :-)

Your butterfly is as beautiful as the ones I see flying around. Gorgeous work, as usual!

Done a bit more work on the blue & white cat tile - the cat hasn't got much done on it yet, but I've done the whole surround and most of the tulip!

How do you stitch a perfect circle...? I am sure that I am not able to do it. I have trouble with straight lines!!!
It is looking lovely, Mabel. :D

I cheated - the circle was printed on the fabric :-)

I've posted a fair few pictures of the butterfly recently, but if anyone would like to read in more detail how it was stitched and the decisions and choices I made along the way, there is now a FoF about it.
