How exciting! I went a few years back and it was just amazing (even if I did get heatstroke).

Have fun!! :driving: Watching the GP live is always Much Better!

We follow the Moto GP and when we went to Barcelona some years back WOW!!! The noise, the Crowds 8) all added to the atmosphere!

My friends hubby went to watch in Illinois one year with his son. She came out here to France. One evening there was a phone call from hubby and son....they were trackside during practice. All we could hear was engine noise and son yelling " Listen....that's David Coultard.....that's Alonzo" as the cars zoomed past !!!

Thanks everyone!! :D

Wendy, that is so awesome! It really is amazing live, this is our fourth year, we love it! That phone call must be what we sound like when someone rings us while we are there  8)

Sally, we have packed all sorts of clothes because as you know, the weather can do anything in Melbourne! The last few years we have had heat waves, pouring rain, cold weather, a bit of everything.. :sun: :rainbow: But we don't care because it's great! :whoop:

We leave in a few hours, I will definitely post pictures :) :driving: :camera:

Didn't we have a member, some time ago, who was stitching Lewis Hamilton whenever she watched a race? Did she ever finish him? Anyone know?

That's me and I'm afraid he's sitting at the bottom of my WIPs box

I may retrieve him and try to get him finished off during this season, although it feels weird stitching him in a McLaren now.

Dear Carole,
Don't feel bad about the change of car, I don't think he did, but it was funny that pit stop when he went to the wrong garage! :tantrum: But I have thought about you every Grand Prix since.
Best wishes, Felicity

Hi everyone! I have enjoyed reading about your Hamilton cross stitch, I agree, keep stitching it and I would love to see it! (Yes, it was sooo funny when he went to the wrong garage!)

Here is a few quick photos, we have been so busy! It started today, the cars don't go out today but the drivers are there and we can look around etc..

Here is a sign driving there

Here is Vettel signing autographs, he is really nice and tries to sign for everyone

Wonderful atmosphere...it comes across in your photos too!

When we were at the Barcelona circuit for the Moto GP we were only there Saturday for Qualifying and Sunday race day....so we couldn't wander about quite so much....but it was So EXciting anyway!!

Did you get Vetel's autograph? 8)

Thanks for photos & sorry I am late getting back on this. They are great Melbourne looks lovely & cars/drivers great pics too. Only GP I saw was in 1967 at Silverstone, rained so hard everywhere was mud. All I saw was cars coming up to the corner going round & disappearing, could hardly see the drivers. Went with friends in their dormobile so were OK getting out, except yours truly had to carried through mud as it was coming over my Hush Puppy shoes  Cars were much different in those days but still very exciting to watch. My shoes were OK once mud dried & was brushed off.
