Finished all the cross stitch on page 1 so will move on to page 2 (hopefully sticking with my week-end plan, but who knows?) There is a lot of back stitching but I'm saving that for the end I think even though it isn't outlining backstitch I think it will flow better. I like back stitching, especially when it isn't outlining.

Been working on this only (and will be) since it appears that the engagement will be coming next month. My niece doesn't know (so please please keep this to yourselves since it is a secret), but her soon to be fiancee called my sister because there is going to be a surprise dinner at his mother's house the day after he officially proposes.(and asked my sister for her permission to marry her daughter - how sweet is that ), so I've decided to work on this except for stitching the date, which hasn't been set.

Page 2 is done except for a few stitches that are really part of page 4 and I am saving the back stitching for last. Got it done fairly quickly because warm, sunny weather seriously distracted my stitching supervisor:

I think its looking pretty good.

You're making good progress and it's just stunning! It's not the typical wedding sampler and I love it!

Your sampler is looking great! That blue is just gorgeous. :whoop:

Your supervisor looks pretty content. It's such a shame that cats are solar-powered but she looks to have found a way to maximize her exposure so I'm sure she'll be back on the job soon.

Good on Miss Laverne for taking full enjoyment of the lovely weather. Us older people and cats need the sunshine.

A lovely update on your gift and what a wonderful young man your niece is marrying. :whoop: :whoop: :whoop:

That is very pretty Sally & what a very courteous young man. You have been very busy with this while your supervisor is so laid back she has not a care in the world. :D Well done on this lovely project :applesauce: :applesauce:

Your supervisor appears to be taking a break in the sun to recharge.

This piece is just gorgeous. I really like the blues in it. It sounds like quite a nice young man to be making all these plans and asking her mother for permission.
