Little Red Riding hood

Post by Angel »

My husband started playing a game with our daughter where he would huff and puff and blow in her face because he's the big bad wolf. I think she was pulling his beard when the game began as a way of getting her off. She LOVES it! You should see her face when she hears big bad wolf. lol so When I saw the bothy threads shilouette version of the fairy tale we were convinced that she needed it!

So this is the first bit of stitching I've done since she was born. I figured it would be easy to work on the go as it only has one colour. It's slow going but I've already finished little red!Just this tree and then page 1 will be complete!

I have s suspicion that y daughter not only really enjoys the stuff I make for her, but also desperately wants to be involved in it herself. Here she is making sure I can see what threads are coming up next. "Mamma, mamma...you want the black one next! Look! Here it is!" Of course she only talks in my head. She's not 9m yet :P

Can you see the photos? I've linked them from facebook and am not sure about the permissions...

That's a sweet story. Tiny brats can be nice, but the times when they are not weigh heavily on the negative side of the scales...

Lovely to see that you're getting the time to get back to stitching.

Just don't (yet) show her Allyn's slightly different take on it http://www.crossstitchforum.com/viewtop ... =6&t=28274 - would scar her for life!

Regards,

Richard.

I think I'm making pretty good progress with this one. Given how much time I get to myself these days anyway. I really hope to get it done before the game looses it's charm. I can't see it entertaining her as much as she gets older.

I play a similar game with my granddaughter. Though instead of Big Bad Wolf, we are monsters. It's the only way she stays still while I'm changing her diaper.

Your picture looks wonderful. Something I'm sure she'll cherish forever.

I've given up on trying to get ziggy to be still for a change. I'm now a master at changing on the go. Usually she's changed while on the potty but if I have to change her at any other time things get tricky. We've got pampers pants which can be done when she wants to co operate but also move, we've got pull ups which I can do in my sleep while a child is figiting (not just my child either, I've found it takes me less than ten seconds on her friend too lol) and I have cloth nappies for when she really doesn't want to comply. Press studs and Velcro on cloth. No sticking it to the wrong place accidentally just pop and go :P

Ziggy hates nappies

Two years on and I'm just about to finish the second page of this design lol Of course my little one now actually lets me sew, but I only cross stitch when staying with my parents

It’s those darn trees  they take so much concentration and time lol the characters are done in a couple of weekends but the trees? Not so much! I’m hoping the next two pages go quicker. No trees!

I finished page 2!!!

At this rate she’ll be five... maybe 6 before I’ve finished... that’s still fairytale age right? I mean right now she’s more into tickets and planets than fairy tales but... maybe when I’ve done she’ll think it’s cool?
