Re: 2017 Deliveries & New Stash Acquisitions
It's all right, what's in there at the moment has plenty of room, and the other fabrics I mentioned are such large pieces that they willbe kept in one of those under-the-bed storage boxes

Sally, I love your little kits, especially the church with scripture.
And Mabel, your new storage looks perfect. I have my fabric in a similar little cart.

I don't know much about the actual cross stitching, but those cats...they melt my heart!

Re: 2017 Deliveries & New Stash Acquisitions
I got 2 packages in the mail this weekend, I love it when that happens! One was a couple new pieces of fabric -- since stitching over 1 on 25 ct was too small for me, I got a couple pieces of 36 ct linen, I thought I'd try that, stitching over 2 for my Candlestick Man. Also got a book of border patterns for hoop designs. And my favorite, for my Easter mason jars:
These little guys are so adorable!!! I started the guy on the upper right yesterday. I can't wait to fill that jar up with jelly beans.

Those are so cute! Will they fit on a "standard" round Mason jar? I have several pretty blue ones but I can't decide what to do with them.

Re: 2017 Deliveries & New Stash Acquisitions
All but 1 (the bunny pulling the cart) fit on a 3" mason jar lid, I think that's the wide mouth lid. She has another set of Easter patterns that look smaller: http://www.123stitch.com/item/Sue-Hilli ... rn/14-1358" target="_blank
My pattern is at home but I think the average size of the patterns I received was about 30-32 stitches wide & 32-ish tall.
Does that help?

Yes it does. I think Easter designs would be cute with my blue jars. (When I bought them, I had Christmas in mind, and didn't realize until too late they are blue. That said, I should make sure I still have them. )isaacson72 wrote:All but 1 (the bunny pulling the cart) fit on a 3" mason jar lid, I think that's the wide mouth lid. Re: 2017 Deliveries & New Stash Acquisitions
I emailed the designer (Sue Hillis Designs) to ask permission to sell the finished jars at my office and to friends, as a fundraiser I'm doing for the National MS Society. She responded & said yes, she hopes I make a pile of cash, and that if I become rich, she would like to put in her order for a Mercedes. It was her, personally, emailing from her iphone, not a customer service rep, I thought that was so awesome! It's like talking to a celebrity directly! I'll definitely buy some more of her patterns, they're super cute.

That's fantastic! Generous of both the designer and you to support the MS fundraiser.isaacson72 wrote:I emailed the designer (Sue Hillis Designs) to ask permission to sell the finished jars at my office and to friends, as a fundraiser I'm doing for the National MS Society. Love that news. I think that most designers are glad to give permission for charitable events. I imagine they also really appreciate the fact that you took the time to ask for her permission. Good for you and good for her. I also hope you make a chunk of bucks for MS.

Re: 2017 Deliveries & New Stash Acquisitions
I work in the legal field so my co-workers would never let me live it down if I got tagged with a copyright violation!! I did the same for Leisure Arts designs - they said I could make/sell up to 10 of any design except for some like Disney, Precious Moments, & I think one other. I could never make that many but it was nice of them to say that. I just wanted to make a dozen or so for the fundraiser, not 100+!!! I'll hopefully be doing the walk annually for a long time (I have it, so I'm pretty vested in their research efforts), so I guess I'll hang onto those emails and maybe make more jars as fundraisers for next year.rcperryls wrote:Love that news. What a lovely person that designer is and now you can relax and enjoy stitching and selling them.

Re: 2017 Deliveries & New Stash Acquisitions
Hi everyone! Not been on here for a while. I've been using my Mums small kitchen scissors so thought it time I had a pair of my own. I've just went onto Mabel Figworthy's fabulous wee online shop and bought a pair of her 4" embroidery scissors with the handy plastic cover. Can't wait to receive them!
