I asked my Mum if she would like me to stitch her Wrendale Designs hen on either light oatmeal, white or platinum aida and she chose the latter so have ordered it but unfortunately it won't arrive until the middle of July. The website I get all my aida from does 15 x 18 inch rolls for £3.50

I just discovered all the free Christmas ornament patterns on the Kreinik website. So of course I just spent $40 kitting them up so really, not free after all. But I couldn't resist the silk thread - I've never stitched with silk before!

Michelle You will love working with the silk threads, they just glide through your fingers. :)

Nicola - just as well mid July is only a couple of weeks away. :)

Treated myself to the DMC stranded cotton shade card. Really looking forward to this coming I'm sure it'll be invaluable in helping me with sorting out colours of projects in the future

The DMC color book will get a lot of use, trust me.

Silk is nice to stitch with. My only issue is my hands tend to get dry out here in Colorado, so I have to keep them moisturized or the silk will actually snag on the dry skin. That's why I have lots of Udderly Smooth around.

I know, I know I am supposed to be de-stashing not getting but I couldn't resist either of these.

The one on the right appealed to me very highly - at the time I was struggling with the 939 blue/black and this was just so fresh. It will wait its turn after I have done great grand-daughters Christmas stocking.

The 2nd one about Rainbow Bridge is not only for my daughter, whose 9 yr old dog Basil now has serious cancer but also for a friend at church whose 11yr old dog died a couple of weeks ago. This will be the first one to be done x2. The 18ct aida PTP's Jazz and the threads are to fill the gaps I didn't have to complete this special one.

So you see I have a reason for buying both of them. I will however have to stop looking at 123stitch's weekly ads.

There's always a reason, Sally Squirrel  - don't I know it? I've got my eye on some pretty patchwork fabrics for an applique workshop that may never happen

Nicola, what a lovely treat-to-self, enjoy all the pretty colours in the shade card!

My DMC shade card arrived just now and it's fabulous! So many lovely colours. I have the full set of basic threads in two boxes but seeing them in a book form is just something special I think. Away to have a good nosey :whoop:

Been to the stitching show at the nec Birmingham uk today. Show was little but still managed to overspend lol. Picked up 2 kits from 'itching to stitch' and started one as soon as I got back.
I also picked up some knitting kits some needles a couple of threads to start my autumn swap project, some fat quarters and 7 bundles of Christmas ribbon.
