Re: Where has everyone gone?
Hi everyone,
I have been AWOL for quite a while mainly due to my working two part time jobs, which I thought it was a good idea at the time.
However it meant I was working six days of the week and running a home, so in July I gave up one of my jobs so now I'm working four days instead, unless I choose to do overtime which is MUCH better!
I have a lot of catching up to do with all your lovely projects and I have missed you all!
I have done a bit of stitching which I will put on in due course, I have stuck faithfully with one project for some time which is 'Snow' by Maxine Gadd, I really would like a finish some time in the next couple of years!
I still get the eye strain when I stitch but it has been improving since I got good lighting and some reading glasses.
I hope you are all well and enjoying your stitching.

Lulu, that sounds so much more reasonable!. "Snow" is going to be terribly impressive when it's finished, and now you have time to enjoy your stitching again. Win!

Welcome back!! You have been missed! I've just finished a 'long-term' project (Humphrey Hare) and there are a few others lurking in the bottom of the UFO box!
Your "Snow" will be done when it's finished and we look forward to that time!!

Re: Where has everyone gone?
Good to see you again Lulu.
Sorry about the eyestrain. Good lighting helps, but I find nothing beats a head torch, possibly one with magnifying lenses. I find the lenses help a great deal, but possibly cause as much eyestrain as they cure. May be worth trying, maybe not.
Regards,
Richard.

Re: Where has everyone gone?
Aww thank you everyone, you are all so lovely
Thank you Richard I did act upon your advice when I first mentioned my problem, I'm wearing plus one diopter readers rather than the minus one's I got from Specsavers, and I have five spotlights above me too when I stitch, my eye's were remaining blurry for about two hours after stitching a short time but now the blurriness goes after five/ten minutes, so I guess they are recovering slowly, I should have used lights way before I did, my lounge is quite dim.

Re: Where has everyone gone?
Wow - I knew my stitchy bug had hibernated.....didn't realize for how long. It's definitely coming back.....I've been thinking about getting my stitching back out. I've been thinking about the forum - I have missed checking in to see what everyone is stitching. Hopefully I'll get myself eased back in.
I've been focused on travel and joined a board discussing trips to themeparks in Orlando - one of my happy places. I changed jobs - a brand new industry for me and have virtually eliminated any work related stress from my life - it is a nice change of pace. It's been over 20 years since I could say that.
Looking forward to the cooler fall weather that will be upon us shortly (even in So. Cal, I can look forward to the cooler weather of high 60's/low 70's ) and get cuddled up with my projects. I'm hoping to finish Autumn Queen by Mirabilia and that will complete my 'Queen' Mirabilia set (at least the ones I want to stitch). I'm really looking forward to putting time in Queen of Hearts (HAED) and maybe a new start or two......yes, I'd say the stitchy bug is screaming to come back out.
This is such an awesome, welcoming group. It has been nice seeing some familiar names of my previous time on the boards.

@ JenEric, welcome back, I hope life flows more smoothly for you from now on and for the return of your stitchy bug. The Miribilia projects sounds fantastic.

Re: Where has everyone gone?
WB, Lulu! I know this isn't any restaurant, but.... *gives you a as a way to welcome you back*
I am still here, but crazy busy. When I'm concerned, one matriculation present became a FO stitching - wise. Now I have 3 big WIPs to stitch. Especially one of them takes time. I hope I manage well with it. It is harder and demands more than I expected. But I hope I manage to stitch it, be it my stitching is needlepoint.
So let's hope the best and enjoy your stitching, Lulu!
