Re: 2018 St Cross Stitchers Hospital
Oh my goodness Sina
What a catalogue of things to go wrong, I know people can and do make mistakes but in my opinion it is how those mistakes are rectified that matters and it sounds as if things went from bad to worse.
I am very glad it has been sorted out for you and you don't have to see that Doctor again ( I know how it feels, I had to resign from my Doctors and find another due to his incompetence) and that you won't have to have the cast on after next week.
In the meantime, rest and recuperate here, I've brought fresh flowers in from the garden and put a lemon drizzle cake on the side for you.
Gentle

Re: 2018 St Cross Stitchers Hospital
It amazes me sometimes when professionals who we need to rely on aren't very professional or even skilled enough to not make things worse. I am so glad that you refused to walk up the stairs and that the treatment you needed was given to you at the hospital. And so glad that you won't have to see that doctor again. Stick around here for as long as you need to. The staff is incredibly professional and the best skilled nurses there are. They are practically telepathic in recognizing and meeting your needs before you are even aware of them.
Hoping you heal soon!

Thank you, feeling very blessed to have access to this perfect, calming space here.
Have my next appointment tomorrow and directly after an exam in Classical Japanese, so I'll definitely be happy when tomorrow's over.

Yaicks! That's not nice at all!
I am glad you got the right meds in the end.
Now you just rest here and take it easy. That is all I am able to give you.

Re: 2018 St Cross Stitchers Hospital
Slipped on the stairs this morning and fell down the bottom half, fortunately mostly on my bottom, but I'm aching all over now - and I wanted so much to have some good stitching time today as I'm halfway through Frosty's scarf and so far it's looking exactly as I wanted! but with sore arms and a sore backside.... well.

Oh poor you Mabel, I hope you are ok. Do take care and have a good rest. Hopefully it won’t affect your stitching too much

So sorry to hear that Mabel & do hope you will soon feel better. What an awful thing to happen must have shaken you up.
I have some in for some P&Q time as been getting headaches this past week. Weather is thundery so I do know why but not doing much in the way of crafts at all at the moment.

Ow.
Sorry to hear that Mable. Hope you mend quickly.
As for the waistline, this is my thinking: A waist is good to have. So presumably more is better. So have as much comfort food as you need.
Regards,
Richard.

I like your thinking, Richard - which is why I haven't objected too loudly when DH suggested a takeaway for tonight instead of me cooking.

Re: 2018 St Cross Stitchers Hospital
!!!!!!!!!!!!
DH not cooking instead?
I cook every other day. Seems fair as we both work. It also has the side effect of making sure we get something edible every other day, and don't subsist on the potato diet that Tracy would give us if it were left up to her alone. I make sure we have rice & pasta based dishes as well as potato as the main carbs. Added to which - whisper it quietly - Tracy's clock watching is only very accurate at work, so the potatoes are occasionally seriously overcooked and turn to watery mush when she does them.
Regards,
Richard.

Re: 2018 St Cross Stitchers Hospital
Richard, I'm glad to say DH is a very competent cook in an emergency (he looked after himself and the two boys for some time before we got married, and they don't seem to have suffered any ill consequences) , but as I work part-time and he often works until I drag him in from the office at 7.30 or 8 I'm happy for him not to have to - also, in the normal way of things (that is to say, when I haven't fallen down half a flight of stairs...) I love cooking, and can generally be relied on to produce something that's tasty and relatively healthy, with occasional "delicious and very healthy" peaks. And every now and then, I enjoy a Chinese , so this is as good an excuse as any!

Oh my goodness Mabel, what a nasty fright you must have had, something like that really shakes you up.
I hope you enjoy your takeaway tonight, I had a scrumptious chicken in plum sauce with fried rice on tuesday, a little of what you fancy does you good as the saying goes.

Re: 2018 St Cross Stitchers Hospital
On no Mabel, I hope you'll recover soon!
In the meantime, please get enough rest, and .
As for me, after more than 8 weeks I now finally don't need to use the crutches anymore. I still have some issues, though. I can walk for maybe 500 m at a time, then the pain will get too severe and I have to sit down for a while. The doctor told me there is only one solution to this: I need to walk and the pain will get better eventually. So now I try to make 5000 steps a day which equals to approximately 3km. It has been working ok so far.

Hopefully, you are now on the mend, Mabel. I brought you a French cake
It is great news, Sina, about not having to rely on crutches any more. I am sorry that you have to put up with some pain. Well done in doing your walking and persevering.
I think that it would be a good idea to buy yourself a new Cross Stitch kit/ treat at the end of the week as a reward for all your efforts.
