And at long last, the Lanarte Owl is finished!!! Barely had enough thread, in fact I ended up matching up some of my DMC on a couple of the colors that did run out. Good thing I opted for using 32 count from my stash rather than the 27 count that came with the kit!!! Egads, you'd think that they could make sure to include ample amount of threads on these kits!!! At any rate, I am really happy with the end result, and hope to get this one framed soon!!!
Here it is, unpressed, so it does look a bit wonky

He's stunning Karen! Beautiful stitching too :applesauce: That's ashame about the thread, that's something you'll never get with Bothy Threads kits, in fact someone finished a Gorjuss girl and almost had enough to do a second one!

Oh my goodness, he is stunning. He's so realistic and that eye is so piercing.

Your stitching is so beautifully neat and even.

I might just have to put this one on my Christmas and Birthday wishlist.

Congratulations on a fantastic finish

He is beautiful, looking forward to seeinghim framed!

I'd contact Lanarte if I were you - they may honeslty just have got the quantities wrong (perhaps they gave their model stitcher a much finer fabric or something) in which case they'd want to know so they canrectify it. And if they are being mean with their threads on purpose, well, let's hope people writing in about it might make them ashamed (or at least realise it's bad business)

What a fantastic finish!!  :applesauce:

Don't you just hate it when there are not enough threads! :tantrum: Have they never heard of :anotherfrog: :anotherfrog: :ribbit: :ribbit: ?????
Lanarte are a reputable company and to hear that they are a wee bit parsimonious does not do them credit! I'd let them know!

I think the owl is absolutely perfect!! That eye looks so alive if I were a mouse I'd be very scared. Beautifully stitched.
And once again, I remember one of my major reasons for not liking kits. Seems like the last one I did (long ago) had not enough of one color and too much of several others. Or maybe like

I'm so glad that you had the thread you needed so you could have such a beautiful finish!!!

She is majestic and beautifully stitched, Karen. I think that the colours are perfect too.
You did not need the stress of wondering if you had enough thread. I am glad, all worked out in the end. Brilliant finish! :applesauce: :applesauce:
