More snow on & off today. Went down to -15 with wind chill. The coldest St. David's Day on record. Majority of St. David's Day celebrations have been put on hold until weather is better. Grands were excited about snow & time off school but disappointed at not having the school celebrations as they love dressing up. Girls always look lovely in their Welsh costumes with the tall hats but it will be held later so none will miss out. Boys dress up as dragons or kings & in other costumes. Plus loads of singing of course!! :)

2 neighbours close by called engineers out for heating problems8 am. Took quite a while but in the end both homes had heating again. As we've seen in Scotland on news Serinde, those who can help those who can't, especially with food & medication & in the remote areas where needed

Hope everyone in south west of UK keep safe, warm & dry as well as others in the red & amber warning zones :) .

Happy St David's day. I always think it's the day that the daffodils start to tell us that Spring isn't far away.

Happy St David's Day, everyone! :D

It is also my daughter's birthday! She was born at home this very day, 33 years ago. She was so eager to come into the world that my DH had to deliver her before anybody could come to the rescue! Thankfully she was fine.
I remember taking her into the ambulance, just wrapped in a blanket and it was freezing!

Goodness Poppy, your daughter was in a hurry wasn't she?

Wendy, today is classed as the first day of spring in Wales. Daffs on the road verges will not like the snow, they've been in flower about 2 weeks. Snowdrops too but they don't mind the cold. Luckily for sheep farmers it is set to become warmer during the coming week so lambs won't be born in the freezing cold.

I can't believe I forgot about St David's day, my dear grandmother might be 'turning in her grave' as the saying goes. Hope the celebrations can will be enjoyed when there is less snow around.
