Another sweater With Buttons
This one is beige (aka oyster). Did the sleeves and back in stockinette and the front in Andelusion pattern. Still need to get buttons though. And since we are having heat now (30C+) I won't be wearing it any time soon

Re: Another sweater
Brilliant cardie for the cold weather. Amazingly it is 90 Fahrenheit in London today heard on TV. Didn't realise Canada got it so hot.
Love the patterns you have worked into your knitting. Makes a change form doing plain knitting doesn't it? Looking forward to your next one.
How do you knit them so quickly. It amazes me when another of you knits pops up on here. seem to take you no time at all.. Love to see them but it makes me wonder do you sit knitting all night as well as doing cross stitch or do you just do everything super quick
Look forward to your next knitting spree, they are always lovely

Thanks. I gets bloody hot in the summer, several days of 30-35C in a row with high humidity (36-38C). Then it "cools" down to normal-75-80 or so.sapphire wrote:Brilliant cardie for the cold weather. Amazingly it is 90 Fahrenheit in London today heard on TV. Didn't realise Canada got it so hot.

I love trying new patterns, have quite a selection on Pinterest . Won't be doing much knitting this summer because it's just too hot to have a lump of yarn in your lap in a heat wave. But will start again in the late summer/early fall. I have always been a fast knitter and being retired helps a lot with productivity. But I am going to start soon with the Christmas stitching soon. Don't want to leave it too late, didn't get much done last year. I tend not to mix different crafts. I like to finish one thing before starting something else. That's why I don't have stitching "in rotation". It bothers me to see something sitting unfinished. Oh but right now I am knitting a scarf out of what was left of my beige sweater. It's for my SIL. A good way to try new patterns out.

What lovely knitting you do. Love patterns you made.
I didn't realise it got that hot in Canada either. Always think of Canada being cooler - suppose it's because we think of the winter sports & it being next to Alaska.

Re: Another sweater
Your cardigan looks so warm and cosy. I always think that hand knitted sweaters are warmer than bought ones.
You sound very well organized to me, thinking of Christmas stitching already! It is a good idea.
Wow, you certainly have two extremes of temperatures where you are!

Wow Mauveme this is gorgeous!
Can't imagine wearing one of those right now as here in Germany it's just as hot, but colder days will definitely come and then you'll have a true masterpiece to wear!

Oh my goodness, that is beautiful and I love the colour.
I'm sure you will enjoy wearing it when the cooler weather comes round again.

Re: Another sweater
Lovely pattern, and such a useful colour. I don't know why some people seem to have something against beige, you can wear it with anything and combine it with lots of colours!

Re: Another sweater
Thanks for your kind words. Not a beige fan but it will go with a lot. And.. I'm thinking red buttons. it will take away some of that total beige look.

Re: Another sweater

Re: Another sweater
Yes, that's what I meant. My MIL knitted me a dress, and I asked for it to be beige - I wear it with the most outrageously coloured tights (bright turquoise, blue or green, and one pair which has "harlequin" diamonds of black and purple with decorative cross lines in bright fuchsia) which is possible because the dress itself is so neutral.mauveme wrote:Thanks for your kind words. Re: Another sweater
A really lovely cardigian Debbie And your brightly coloured tights sound great with beige - love the idea of wearing harlequin ones - must look so bright & cheerful

Re: Another sweater
I have so much purple. Want a change. And red is my second fave colour. And there is no way in hell I would get into tights in public, let alone brightly coloured or harlequin. Women of a "certain size" should NEVER wear tights
