OK, I'm not allowed to show them, which is annoying, but...

:whoop: :whoop: :whoop: :whoop: :whoop: :whoop: :whoop:

I've finished both the stitched models for the magazine article!

Now I've got to lace them onto foam board, finish the instrustions and edit the last few the progress pictures, and get them sent off safely for the deadline later this month.

I'm going to post one tiny bit of it, just to show you the last part that I completed yesterday without giving away the whole thing:

You'll have to wait until end of March to see the whole thing - apparently it takes four months to put a magazine together :-)

Looks like a piece of an ancient dress with gold work to me. The piece itself is absolutely beautiful, I can imagine how impressive the whole project must be. :applesauce:

The usual - Stitch. I have built up a good rapport with their editor, which makes for a pleasant working environment. Compared to others they pay quite well too. Divided by the hours spent designing and stitching, plus the materials, it wouldn't keep me in tea bags, but it's a nice bonus to something I'd be doing anyway :-)

It took a bit of work, but I think I've got the perspective right!

Hmm. Hourglass is on hold, possibly indefinitely, as I'm not happy with the look of the sand in the top half of the glass. I've decided to put it away for a bit and then come back to it to see if it's grown on me.
Meanwhile, I'm thinking I really ought to do a bit of Hengest this weekend...
