They are by far the easiest to follow and the photos that you include, at least in the ones I have done, clarify exactly what you are saying. I know for me it is what makes trying new things an adventure and not a scary and/or confusing misadventure. Wish my math teachers had been as easy to understand.

Back to Hardanger - finally :-) . This is the start of Carousel, which will be characterised by various swirly or spirally motifs; the satin stitch braid border is meant to echo the decorated top band of a carousel. All very very stylised, of course!
