I am always in awe of someone who can knit. It's a skill I just can't seem to master. And to make such an awesome job is remarkable.
Hope the future DIL likes it as much as we all do.

Remarkable.

I agree. Decades ago my aunt who was an awesome knitter tried to teach me to knit. I made the oddest looking vest the world had ever seen. So many dropped stitches (never knew where they want) and a few added on (probably by a mischievous elf I'm sure). Crocheting was much easier. Only have one stitch at a time to worry about.

Can I be third in waiting if you decide to move into manufacturing exquisite shawls?

Thank you so much for your generous comments

I would gladly knit you all one but my DH would strongly disapprove as he is not allowed to talk to me while I knit lace
It is not difficult, just long rows of yarn overs and knit together.

My son and his fiancee are coming tomorrow to see us and I will give it to her then.

Wow that is amazing!! I wish I could knit but I wouldn’t know where to begin or have the time with all my cross stitching. Well done on your finish, you are very talented :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:

The wedding was 6 days ago. I cannot really post a picture of my DIL but attached is a photo of her dress and shawl. She wore it in the evening and was glad of it for a little warmth.

It looks oh so right laying there across her arms and what a blessing she had it too to keep the warmth in and the cooler air out. Well Done Helene.

Well done. It looks superb, like gossamer, must have been so hard to get the tension right.

Regards,

Richard.

:applesauce: :applesauce: The shawl looks like it was made for the dress. Absolutely stunning!!! And if your DIL's smile is any indication of her beauty (inside and out), your son is a very lucky man! Congratulations!
