Funny things kids say and do

My 2 1/2 year old granddaughter cracks me up.

She phoned me to tell me all about her Christmas and she says “mommy took down the tree because there was a rat under it”. (I hear my daughter in law laughing hysterically in the background.) My son is going “no....no....it’s the tree skirt”. DGD says that <other grandmother> gave us a tree skirt with a rat.

Other grandma gets the credit for all the gifts. I made this.

Apparently when DGD saw the Rat King she ran over and was stomping on it to kill it.

What are some of the funny things your kids/grandkids have said and done?

Wonder if taking her to see the Nutcracker would be a good idea or not...? Could be mayhem in the stalls!

Ascribing the gifts to "the other Granny" sounds familiar. Must be an international problem. The funniest thing happens when "the other Granny" herself believes it was she who gave this or that thing to the kid.

The skirt is beautiful.

The skirt is one of the first things I made. I always loved the Nutcracker ballet. One day I may bring her and her sister to see it. Glad you could see the beauty through the wrinkles. Lol

I can give M a new dress and she will hold it up to show grandpa and say “look what other grandma gave me”. It’s probably because every time she sees her other grandma she is given something, whereas, I see her 5 days a week and do not give her something every time. (I like her other grandma, so it’s all good.)

They sure see the world rather differently than we do that is for sure. Thanks for sharing it and I love your Tree Skirt, it is gorgeous.

Your tree skirt is lovely! We all have stories of youngsters saying funny things! How wonderful!

I took my DGD to The Nutcracker and when the male dancers came out wearing quite tight tights and no shirts, she proclaimed (not quietly), "They're showing their private parts!"

I was talking to 8 year old grandson. He is planning a trip to Paris, and will go to The Louvre, so we were talking about art and artist. We were look8ng at pictures on-line, and when we saw Starry Night, I told him I had stitched it, but mine had a TARDIS in it. He asked what a TARDIS is.

I said it’s a time machine that Dr. Who travels in.

….concentration…..

And his face lights up and he says “I know! It’s that blue cell phone box”

My 2 year old grandson had to go to the hospital to get a Covid test. He went marching in, wearing his toy stethoscope, and announced he was at the “Doctor Store” and I will never call a hospital anything else again. @rotfl: @rotfl: @rotfl:

If the hospital is a "Doctor Store", what is the Doctor's office?

DIL took her 3 year old to the grocery store…where he proceeded to tell everyone that mommy had wine in her coffee cup.

There was not wine in it…she was driving.

Lol. That’s too funny. The other day my 4 year old daughter and I were watching Cinderella. First time for both of us. We got to the part where they ripped her dress and I had to explain why. She goes “that’s mean. I’ll fight them!” with such conviction and I couldn’t help but laugh.

My MiL once took our youngest daughter Orianna to the local chemists where she asked for some anti-wrinkle cream. Orianna was 4 or 5 at the time. MiL explained to Orianna that she needed to use it every night to keep wrinkles away. Orianna looked very seriously at MIL's face and after a few seconds intense study, she said:

"You need to use a different cream, because that one's not working.'

MiL still giggles about that, and reminded me of it again last weekend.

Regards,

Richard.
