Hello

Post by luv2craft »

I am Lynette & just joined. Got a 2nd hand refurbished laptop & thought I would join forums to make new friends.

Love most crafts but in recent years have been cross snitching. Am in between items as had eye problems, but almost back to normal. Get new glasses next week & then I can start stitching again.

 Hello Lynette and welcome to the forum from South Carolina! This is a great place to get back into stitching and to find new friends from all over the world who love stitching and love to make new friends! Hope that your eye problems get fixed with new glasses and that you can begin stitching. We have a number of members who use magnifying and daylight lamps to ease the strain stitching puts on eyes so if you have questions about what might help feel free to ask. Do you have a project waiting for you?

Thank you for welcomes & advice.

I have lamp & magnifier but eyes just played up which they do occasionally.

As to question, do I have any projects waiting? I have quite a few. Will start Veraco coffee mug next. I don't have themes, Just buy what appeals to me.

Latest buy is from Golden Hinde needlecrafts. A gold work seahorse kit, Don't know when I'll start it but couldn't resist it to add to my collection. My friend bought the cat gold work one & I just had to check out the web site. Fatal I know, as there's always some thing which appeals.

Look forward to getting to know everyone. :)

Hi Lynette, Definitely  "Hi and Welcome" from very warm Brisbane - it I great that you have joined us.

I sure hope that the wait for the new glasses is not too long - as I know only too well how hard it is wanting to stitch and not being able to. During last year I had both cataracts removed and each required a few weeks of no stitching then the next op and another 3 weeks of trying to find other things to do that don't require good eyesight. All is well now and I am up and running.

Looking forward to getting to know you and watching your lovely stitching in progress.

Enjoy your time here. We're a friendly bunch, and love to see people's work, offer encouragement, and advice (if requested).

As for the glasses, I'm with you there. At the moment, I'm awaiting a new set myself. Saturday is my day for new glasses. With any luck I can start to stitch again. Never needed glasses before for 6" distance work, but over the last year my eyes have changed a fair bit. It has made my Gryff project much more difficult.

Regards,

Richard.

Gosh, even more welcome message thank you. you certainly are friendly people. I joined a couple of other forums & only got a handful of welcome message so thought that was the norm. Obviously I was wrong.

Have only looked at a few Tips & Tricks so far but whoever or whatever Gryff (or is it Gruff - made e think of The Gruffalo)? ) is I will son find out. Hope you are able to get your glasses on Saturday & can stitching again..

Oh my, what a most beautiful cat Gryff is. Thank you for putting the link up.

Just love the stitch work of him, so many varied shades. What a magnificent picture it will be when completed.

Made me laugh seeing him acting as the banker in Monopoly. Gryff must have been a fantastic cat to have in your home RichardandTracy. Guess he kept you both under control as he seems to be doing to the other cat.
