Stashmas 2019 questions and concerns

Post by fccs »

I meant to post this earlier, but better late than never, right?

We have one thread for sign-ups and the send list, and one for wish lists, so this thread will be for everything else Stashmas related. This is where you can ask questions and share concerns. You can also contact me directly via PM, as well as Kuschelschaf, if you have issues that you don’t want to share with everyone.

How is everyone doing on their Stashmas shopping? I’m waiting for a delivery in the next or two and then should be able to package and ship.

Getting there, getting there. Now that the decks are slightly clearer, I can really concentrate on Stashmas. :snowman:

I'm very excited! It wasn't easy, and it's not done yet, but I like the result. Now I'm just curious... and very much looking forward to Stashmas day!

I am still waiting on my paycheck to clear. I have everything together. I'll wrap it tonight and should have it on the way Friday. It's a little later than I'd hoped, but I was waiting on something and it finally showed up.

When I went to the post office, the clerk remembered me sending stuff last year and goes "do you always send cross stitch stuff abroad every year?". So I told him about Stashmas. He thought it was a really cool thing. :)

And he's right, of course. One more bit to get, and I'll be sending a package off to Tiffstitch... 8)

It’s totally a really cool thing. :-) I mailed my outgoing Stashmas gift this morning.

I've had a right old to do trying to sort my Stashmas gift! I ordered two or three things from a company over two weeks ago! I sent them an email asking if they could give me tracking number or anything but never heard back. I waited just in case it did arrive but no sign! I've now placed an order with Lakeside Needlecraft and hopefully it arrives early next week so I can post on Wednesday! I still have to wrap everything though  I will pm you Carole if anything changes but I still hope to post by 31st!

Don't worry, Nicole. Thanks for the update. I appreciate your trying. Last week I tried to send Sojourner's package, but the guy at the Post Office was insistent that I know which was the city (surprised he didn't ask for the state and zip code) and made it sound like the package would get lost. I thought I knew which was the city on his address, but never ever having to be so specific on UK addresses (where most of my Stashmas gifts have gone since I just copy the address as sent and assume the post office knows how to get it to the UK and the UK mail knows what to do with it when it gets there), I thought I'd better double check. Which I did and my guess was the right one (right Howard?) but now it won't get into the mail until probably Tuesday. And of course that was the first time in my life, I think, when I got to the post office and there was no line. Should have been a clue that it was too easy.

It will all work out, Carole :D
If not, I'll beat up the postman (and I used to be a postman :whoop: and was regularly beaten up by stashmas recipients waiting for their parcel....  )
