Rosemary's stitching

Post by RosemaryD »

Hi everyone, long time no see! Brief explanation of absence in the Welcome forum but my stitchy bug along with spare time seems to have returned so I thought I'd post the current status of my projects and hopefully future progress.

Firstly I completed a tapestry for another forum member. I did a cross stitch for her a couple of years ago and said I'd do this one too which took me 2.5 years off and on, oops. It was the largest project in terms of area I've done and I'm quite happy not to see too much DMC 415 for a while.

Next I have just finished Tree of Life, a HAED design originally by Ciro Marchetti, love the way it looks but will think hard before stitching full crosses over one on 32ct again.
Image

The rest have no progress whatsoever in nearly 3 years so it felt a bit like starting a new project when I picked up the Chatelaine recently.

Welcome back Rosemary, and it sure is great to see your stitchy bug has finally come back to life. I love the gifted one of the dogs, oh so lifelike for sure. I will watch the Chatelaine with interest. I did one some years ago and enjoyed it. The Tree of life looks really fabulous too. The remaining projects will no doubt get their turn at being completed and seem content to wait their turn.

If you or anyone else sees my stitchy bug around please smack his rear end and send him home - I have done almost no stitching since June when I finished my grand daughter's 18th birthday gift back in June.

Those are all beautiful but I especially love the dogs. I’m glad you’re back to stitching and sharing.

Congratulations on two beautiful finishes. The Tree of Life is amazing! And the rest are clearly going to be as beautiful. So glad your stitchy bug came back. I thought mine was back but it seems he also has taken another trip. Looking at yours is making my fingers itchy so hoping he's on the way back home.

So glad to see you back!!!

The tree of life finish is quite remarkable.
I still love the Golden Kite turquoise sea. Looks so inviting. Your bug may have taken a leave of absence, but it's certainly returned with a vengeance. Superb work as always.

Richard

Congratulations on the fabulous finishes. :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:

I especially love the Tree of Life, it must have been confetti central with all those colours, but oh so worth it. I hope you display it somewhere where you can see it every day.

I also hope your other projects wait patiently for their turn and don't yell at you too loudly

Not the best photo I've ever taken but here's an update on the Chatelaine. More details/beads/backstitch to be added at a later stage. Please ignore the white fluff all over the linen - I should know better than to iron new cotton T-shirts in the same room. Sticky tape has been used and it now looks much cleaner!

Oh my goodness, that looks like confetti central!

It is so beautiful and very striking on that lovely fabric.

I would love to stitch a Chatelaine, the variety of stitches used make it very interesting.

Well done.

:applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:

and of course any fluff is forgiven, I believe the cross stitch police no longer exist

Actually it's not at all bad confetti-wise; there are a lot of variegated threads used so it looks worse than it is!
