Thank you all for your comments. They are truly appreciated. I got a lot done this week on Darth and am ready to be done with him. Hard to believe but there are more mixed threads with this one than any of the others and are mostly shades of grey mixed together in different combinations. I am sure I have used the wrong combinations sometimes, but I'm guessing that if I can't tell the difference, no one else will be able to either.

I think it took me as long to stitch the bottom 10 rows of this one as it did to do all the other characters. I'm not sure why but the loose weave at the bottom was painstakingly slow. Or it seemed to me. That is always the challenging part of working on this particular fabric since I always have patterns that never quite fit inside the squares, but this one seemed more difficult to keep the rows even. Or maybe its because I'm getting older and less patient with it. Or maybe Darth was using the dark side of the Force on me.

Anyway, now on to the backstitching. And then on to the next character.

Finally Darth is completed (and the dark side did not win) and I am moving on to the next character. Not likely to be done by Christmas but my son's birthday is in May. Sticking with it despite some clamoring I'm hearing from way too many UFO's

This one might be hard for those not familiar with Star Wars. Probably easier for Star Wars Geeks like me. Going pretty quickly so far, but not much else to do while listening to podcasts and wind and rain.

Thank you ladies. Couldn't have a Star Wars afghan without the cutest droid around. After all the dark stitches of Darth I had to do one that was bright and cheery.

BB8 is a droid in the Star Wars sequel trilogy. Droid is short for android (originally usedfor robots designed to look and act like a human) but in the Star Wars world refers to most any robot or robot like character. They come in all shapes and sizes and whether or not they speak like humans or squeak or beep (which some humans understand) they most all have personalities and are among the most loved of all Star Wars characters.
