Back to Scotland... Arrived safely!

Post by wendywombat »

After nearly 3 weeks of sorting and packing we leave France, again, tomorrow morning for Scotland.
Fingers crossed this house will be in the hands of new owners next month, but there's delays as always when house sales are ongoing particularly in the midst of a pandemic.
We have packed most of the important stuff to take, the rest is staying in a friend's barn until we can get back to collect.
The decision to move from France we now know is the right one, for many reasons and I know that one shouldn't wish one's life away but I cannot wait for this move to be over and done.
After all this blether all I really wanted to say was ...
See ya next week!

Look after yourself on the way. Hopefully the virus won't cause you too many problems on the border.

After days of travel we arrived safe and sound...in good health but tired ...in our rental cottage in the Borders.
Van half unpacked and all well.
Chose a good time to arrive as the clocks go back an hour tonight so we have more time to settle in.
Have to self isolate again, no worries! Plenty to do and sort out.
Thanks for all your good wishes. :D

That's good to hear Wendy.
Shame you arrived at the same time as filthy weather, but at least you're here safe and sound.

Regards,

Richard.

  Welcome back! I am so glad you arrived safely and since you are having to isolate yourselves you can take your time unpacking. And if as Richard says you have returned to "filthy weather", it won't be hard staying indoors. Moving is on the top of my list of things I want to absolutely avoid doing. You get bunches of kudos from me for doing this and coming through with flying colors. Looking forward to seeing you in the S&G.

Ooohhh, a whole change of country, that must have been so difficult, iI found it was hard enough moving within the U.K.

I hope you get settled into your new (temporary) home soon.

How exciting it will be to see the progress of your permanent home being built.

Don't forget the Stash and Grab will always be open when you have had enough of unpacking boxes.

Thank you!
I saw that you were back. :whoop:

Yes it has been somewhat of an "interesting" time.
It has long been my ambition to move to Scotland and now it's possible....D/H took some persuading but now we are here. The house in France is on the way to being sold so we do have to pop back before end of year to complete the sale.
Most of our belongings are here and the rental cottage is just right for us now. I've just located the small amount of craft stuff I managed to bring this time...the rest, along with the remaining possessions will be looked after by a friend until we can collect in the spring.
