I love the subtle flower behind the butterflies!

Jo, I offer no apology - that book is a treasure and I recommend it to all and sundry, even if they aren' stitchers :-)

Thank you Ladies for patiently following along and an extra thank you to Mabel for showing your book to us. I took my copy to the sewing group on Friday and it got a lot of interest.

Weekly update time... I have put my Peacock to one side and have been working on the Butterflies:

I feel the frame round the central panels is bringing the central Butterflies to life and am looking forward to having it framed on my bedroom wall :D

I can see why you're impatient to get that on your bedroom wall. :D

The butterflies are vibrant against the creams and yellows. :applesauce:

I realised this morning that I had scrolled up some of my Butterfly piece without showing it to you  So before I continue (and forget  ) a quick pic of the bits I have done:

Now I can scroll back down without a worrying about missing a bit :)

I've been heading down the two sides and have reached the top of the lower bamboo "framing bar", lower down you can see I have run across a line of black thread - that is the bottom of the piece.

Image

This piece is taking longer than I expected and it is beginning to feel that I won't get it finished this side of Christmas  .

:applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: This is such an incredibly lovely piece! If you had planned it as a Christmas Gift, the receiver I'm sure would be more than willing to wait for it. I'd wait as long as it took. You have made wonderful progress and the finish is in sight!
