What a neat idea to start with the cheese and it makes a lovely picture all on its own as well

Didnt I tell you that your butterflies would be finished on time?! A fantastic finish!
The mice(and the life-like cheese) are really great from the point of view of the designer's work. I like Bothy Threads for their perfect charts which at the same time have a special, interesting and unusual "plot" - if the word expresses what I mean- what the stitching actually shows.
These mice are each with its character and so cute all together. Happy stitching!

I've had a bit of a cold this last week (not Covid I have been doing daily tests) so I have been trying to keep warm and the best place to do this is with my cross stitch by the log fire  So my Crackers has been progressing well:

Image

I am hoping to finish this by Christmas day so that I can start one of my presents next Saturday when I officially get them :tizzy: I also need to think about framing my Butterflies :thinks:

Thank you Ladies :)

Finally we have made it to the winter solstice and while others are singing Christmas Carols I feel the need to keep humming "here comes the Sun". And yes the sun was seen for a couple of hours today  My birds were also out enjoying it and amongst the characters coming to share the food I put out for them is an injured Starling who has become a real character as it learns how to pinch the food.

I can tell food is becoming scarce out there because as well as my regular Robin joining me in the greenhouse (it hides in there when one of the others attacks it) I also have a Wren  who joins us who likes hopping around on the floor seeing what it can find.

Between my bird watching and gardening I have just finished the stitching on my Christmas Crackers about Cheese:

The next job is the back stitching and then I can start thinking about the next one I want to start.... Actually that is a fib I have already stretched the fabric on the frame and sorted the threads

Thank you Sally :)

I stayed up late last night and finished off the backstitching:

Before setting up for my Christmas present

As you can see I have mounted it up on my Lowery Stand again. I have got used to how this work now and yes, I like it. Still find scrolling with the clamp on the corner not as easy as it could be but that is just me being picky.

I have even more framing to do

Adore your mice they are just super cute! We have a wee Coal Tit that keeps hovering at our window, probably looking for little spiders and beasties! He's super cute too! Is that 'Woodland Enchantress' you have set up? Can't wait to see more of that! :applesauce:

The mice are adorable! And now that you're to go on your Enchantress are you itching to get started? Is that a thread I see in the middle of the fabric?

 The Woodland Enchantress is a Christmas present.... Maybe we could call it a Winter Solstice present  In which case I could admit to a couple of piece of thread having been added but you will have to wait until Christmas day before I show you any more.

This is another of those lovely Dimensions Gold Collection pieces with each of the bundles of thread identified with a piece of coloured wool. As you can see from my chart stand, I have prepared four cards for my "threads in use". On my Butterflies I separated out the full cross threads on different cards from the half stitches but on this one I have left them on the same card but punched holes on either side the left hand side for full crosses and the right hand ones for half. Yes they use different number of threads for the different stitches and there are a few stitches with different coloured strands.

In the middle of winter the idea that there is an Enchantress who walks through the snowy woods bringing with her light/warmth and sprinkling the ground with flowers I thought would be something to lift the spirits :D
