Christmas Donkey update July 13 2021

Post by karen4bells »

Thanks to Sally for sending me this kit, and the extra fabric, which is a white 16 count aida. I am using the white aida to stitch this on and making pretty good progress. This is after only one week of stitching, maybe a bit slow, but it's the most stitching that I have done in months!! Coming along pretty nicely and I must say, I think my stitchy bug is back!!

Thanks again Sally!!

Looks like you have a good start on this project! Glad to hear that your stitch bug is back. Mine has taken a short trip I think, but alerted me he’s on his way back. I knew when I checked to make sure I have enough lanterns and batteries in case a storm that knocks out power appears this summer. Stay safe when Elsa flies by you. Right now it looks like she’ll be a depression (hopefully very depressed) when she passus by or over us.

We've just come back from a weekend in the New Forest where there are usually lots of donkeys but we saw none this time so I'm going to love seeing this one grow! (We did see the ponies and cows wandering around, and were in one traffic queue caused by a cow ambling ahead at a leisurely pace with no intention of leaving the road :-) )

Thanks for the encouragement everyone!
It's helped immensely to stitch again, especially with Elsa looming. It looks like the worst of the storm is over for where I am at, but we could likely see a few more bands of rain and wind. I haven't been outside to assess any damage, so hopefully there will not be any-I will wait a couple of hours to do that. Carole, I hope that Elsa has totally fizzles out before it reaches you!
Sally, again, many thanks!!

Hope you are getting through Elsa with no real trouble. Looks like she will visit us this evening but is supposed to go through the middle of the state more than on the coastal side so hopefully we will get less than we usually do. She's also supposed to be downgraded to a depression by then ( :x: she gets real depressed about not being a big bad storm) so shouldn't feel any worse than a bad summer storm can be. I love that you are stitching a Christmas design in the middle of a named storm. Somehow that makes it seem less ominous to me. Not sure why, but it does.

Thanks Carole!! We got about 3 inches of additional rain, so not awful. Also a bit of tree detritus, but nothing too bad! Now for Elsa to totally fizzle out before she gets near you!
