Item 4 can be ameliorated by having a separate insert stuck into the card. Inappropriate messages can be headed off at the pass -- even after sticking the insert in, if you are careful. I use these for wedding cards all the time -- not that I'd include anything inappropriate with one of those, you understand, but my handwriting isn't exactly calligraphic... I can also print my message in any colour or font for the insert.

But Item 7 is definitely to be avoided.

Well, if I let cat know it's not to be chewed, cat will move heaven & earth to make sure it does happen.
And if I tell them it must be chewed, attempting reverse psychology, they'll see through my ruse & chew it.

They're like that. Hrrumph.

Rosey has taken more interest in the card I'm working on than on any other stitching I've done. In general, she ignores my stitching (as opposed to Laverne, who as you can see in my avatar wanted to take it over). I think Rosey must know that it is going somewhere that felines are appreciated. Or she wants me finished with it so I can obey her orders more quickly. Probably the latter

My card is almost done. Yay! I’m still up in Cheyenne so the finishing touches and turning it into a card will have to wait until I get home.

I think I’m ready to post.

Was having a bit of “how do I put it together” issue. A chat with my sister helped. I took her idea, changed it, and I think it worked. I combined two different crafts…first time I did this.

Yikes. I'd better get a move on. I have only completed 44% of the rows (though more than that is done, you know how cross country work is...). Thought I was doing quite well!

Nicola's card went into the post office mail bag late yesterday afternoon. Fingers crossed it gets there in early December.

A dear friend in Wales emailed me that her card was in the post and that was almost 3 weeks ago and no sign of it so far.
Part of the reason for the slowness is due to the lack of flights leaving our shores and I suspect the same applies to NZ too. Interesting times we live in for sure.

Hoping to get my card in the mail today. Yesterday was Veteran's day on this side of the big pond and US Post Offices were closed. I am usually such a procrastinator that I have actually surprised myself in being done before December 1.

Well, I’m home now and can start the final touches on the card. Oh wait, no I can’t. Friends from out of state are visiting and the next two days will be devoted to them, including a birthday dinner tonight for one of their daughters and breweries and a football game tomorrow. So maybe Sunday I can do put in the final touches and make it into a card.

In the mail!!! Said it will take at least 2 weeks before you should start looking for it, Richard. Depends on how efficient the mail is on each end. I won't comment on the efficiency of either. Can't wait to hear when you do receive it!

Debby’s is in the mail.

I figured if I delayed I’d completely forget, so better early than forgotten.

Thanks Carole. I shall brief my daughters, who'll wait like rottweilers under the letter box. And protect it from our savage cats when it arrives.

I'm making progress. Have completed 50% of the rows, and all the remaining 50% have at least two stitches on them. Think I am on track for a 1 December posting.

Regards,

Richard.

I had an email from my Welsh friend to tell me that the card she put in the post 2 days ago has taken 2 weeks to get to London !!!!! Now to wait for the infrequent flights from London to Auz. Fingers crossed.

I just received in the mail yesterday (Nov13) several service agreements that I had purchased on the phone October 22. I had actually just realized that I hadn't received them and was going to call the company when they arrived. They were sent from Tennessee to South Carolina. It's roughly 430 miles and Google Maps says it should take 6 hr and 19 mn to drive.

I am stymied slightly on mine, with a stitch which isn't exactly difficult, just requires careful counting. Problem is, the Caron thread I'm using is too thin to cover properly... But I've just this second had An Idea  -- use a Kreinik metallic either in conjunction or by itself... hmmm :thinks:
