Thank you all very much. Having a very quiet day at home with what feels like 23 cats and 15 children and am trying to do some spring 2020 cleaning...
It occurred to me that, as we haven't used the shower since my mother was last here, and she died in 2005, there's probably no urgent need to keep the rusty shower curtain rail. I shall see if anyone notices it's not there..

Regards,

Richard.

Your household is of the bath persuasion then? With us it's the other way round, I don't think the bath has been used since youngest moved out :-)

I used to dust my bath in France! It was a very uncomfortable corner type, couldn't relax in it and it used too much water.

In this new house I can see this bath being used more...but I did dust it a couple of days ago!

Yep, we are a bath type household, I really don't like showers. We reduce water usage by having it 4" deep. It is nice to soak in warm water.

The boss noticed the absence of the shower rail immediately. And objected. Which is absurd, given when we last used it, and haven't had a curtain for it for a decade.

Regards,

Richard.

Claim you took it down the derust it and decided it was too bad so intend on buying a replacement - plan to wait until after the Christmas rush and then don't be in a rush

Jo,

It's always safer to tell the truth. I told her it was rusty & as we never used it, I cut it into pieces & threw it in the recycling. If she wanted it back, she could weld it together herself. I would get the MMA welder out for her..

Regards,

Richard.
