A beautiful and precious photo. Rooster sounds like an awesome cat. I would have loved to know him. I also admire the bed covers. I have a similar variety. For some reason I can't fathom I often get as gifts different items with cats on them.

This is another amazing video of someone making fantastic miniatures: Artist Sculpts Mini Pencil Figures. I have always been fascinated by miniatures. When I was 11 or 12 a friend of mine and I would create miniature houses and villages. We used cigar boxes (do I date myself?) which you get free from local drugstores as the foundations and either made furniture and other objects or would get them from toy or hobby stores (to this day I remember a miniature carton of oranges and some pineapples we had. No idea why I remember that).

This one is rather sweet.
Might not be so nice for a dog lover.

A friend sent me this. Rosey thought I should post it for all who are owned by a cat or cats (or will be soon). everyone else is of course allowed to admire it. Most original Christmas tree I’ve ever seen.

Just been to my last craft class of 2022 where we did a needle felting workshop! Never done it before but really enjoyed it and I now have my little bauble on the tree at home

Love it :D

I've been feeding my Robins this morning. Normally this is a game of fetch: I throw a pellet and they hop over and fetch/eat it. But the last week has been minus 7 degrees and today it has started raining. The result is my entire patio area is a sheet of ice. I have now had to stop throwing pellets for them as they don't like ice skating but it does look amusing when they try

I am now providing little heaps of their pellets somewhere where it is not frozen.

I love the bauble, Nicola. Will you make more for next year’s tree?

And Jo, I now have in my head images of ice skating robins. :-)

We have robins and male blackbirds here. They spend most of their time chasing each other out from the feeding piles. Yesterday we put food out under the bushes. What did the silly birds do?? Ran round and round the bushes chasing each other whilst the Wagtail nipped in and cleared up he food!

I've been putting out halves of apples too. They all seem to love that. :D

My blackbirds love dried blackcurrants. They loiter in the morning, occasionally fixing me with a beady eye through the window as if to say, "Well, here I am. Where are you?"

I love feeding the birds! I have a wall mounted suet pellet feeder, fat ball feeder and two Big Easy seed feeders with sunflower hearts. I'm having to go out every other day to fill them! I usually get House Sparrows, Goldfinches, Chaffinches, Greenfinches and Starlings as well as Robins, Blue Tits, Blackbirds, and Magpies. We had some beautiful Fieldfares in the garden on Saturday and the Grey Heron and Goldcrests have popped in too  :whoop:

Dried blackcurrants never leave the house with us, they're my favourite dried fruit by far. Can't bear the idea of not eating them all myself.

We put out mealworms, peanuts, fat balls and all sorts of grains. The crusts from our bread loaves get frisbee'd up the garden too. I used to eat the crusts myself to avoid waste, but found that as no-one else did, I rarely ate any other bread, and got fed up with it.

Regards,

Richard.

Eating other people's crusts is taking good citizenship a bit far Richard! (Although some crusts... I'm baking an enriched white loaf this morning and The Crust Is Mine!)

Part smile, part reassurance - something shared by a friend of mine this morning. We don't have young children around anymore but in any case I have long since decided not to stress about Christmas preparations. It doesn't promote Christmas joy and peace if I'm constantly racing around trying to do What Is Expected.
