I think Riolis are known for them and also Dimensions if I remember right 🤔 I'm enjoying it but taking it slow.

Hello all I hope you're all having a lovely festive break! Sorry for my absence, I have been floating about in the background, but haven't done much stitching myself until recently. I was getting frustrated with the apples and the amount of different stitches there were (still a relative novice compared to some of you) and turned to my colour by numbers books instead and started my own Youtube channel called Nicola's Stitching and Colouring (only 5 videos but you're welcome to watch and comment if you want to).

Bothy Threads released an evenweave fabric for the Wrendale Designs so I started the Grow Your Own rabbit (I stitched this 3 years ago on aida for my nephew who has it hanging on his bedroom wall) and I loved the design so decided to stitch one for myself on the new evenweave. This is how much I've done and it's lovely to work on I must say.

I hope you all have a lovely New Year!

Sounds like you made a good decision putting the apples down for another day.

I love your choice for your new piece: I keep looking at "Grow your own Rabbit" it is so much fun  But did I mention my new year resolution is to not to buy anything more for my stash. I will be following along and trying not to buy myself one

When a project starts to feel like a chore and is not fun to do or is no longer a challenge, it is a good idea to move on to something else for a while. There will be a time when it starts to call you back and you will know you are ready.

Great start on your new piece. Is the choice of the evenweave fabric a new one? I haven't stitched the Wrendale designs because I really do not like stitching on aida fabric and in general don't like kits. This is going to make it much harder for me but I am as determined as I can be to only buy threads, needles and accessories this year. :x:

Jo - I understand your resolution as it does get out of hand doesn't it? I've vowed to go the opposite way and just not bother with any resolutions as I can never stick to them

Carole - It was always aida only for the Wrendale kits but now they have made them available in evenweave too so can you pick whichever one you'd prefer. Only available on the Bothy Threads website itself. I made a video about it on my Youtube channel which has more details if you want to watch it?

Lovely Youtube video. Clear and concise explanation about the evenweave and which sizes are available, how to order the fabric and the cost.
Bothy should send you a free kit for providing them with free and well done advertising.

I enjoyed your videos. You have done a good job with them and they provide clear instructions for anyone who wants to learn. :applesauce:

I had him on the frame after Apples but before Grow Your Own as I really wanted to start the evenweave

As you can see I have a few WIPs on the go and don't seem to be getting very far with any of them  I'm stitching them on a rotational basis or whatever I feel like stitching on the day. Two are evenweave and two are aida. I must say I love all of them but especially the pansies

Lovely, lovely pieces :applesauce:

I also take the view that we should do whatever we fancy on the day except towards the end when the carrot of starting a new piece is necessary to encourage me to do the backstitching

I love the variety of your different projects and working on the one that calls loudest makes sense to me.I also love Jo's exception to that rule when backstitching is required.

Oooooh the duckling is adorable!
Stitching whatever calls loudest to you is a very sound strategy :D

I made a start on this kit by Dimensions which I bought from a seller on Facebook. It was just too beautiful a kit to pass by  I'm starting from the top left corner and going to work my way down the left side before moving to the right. I seem to do this with larger projects but usually start at the centre on Bothys and smaller projects :thinks:

I agree. I also start most projects in the upper left corner, but I'm not sure if I go right or down after that. I think it depends on the design and the chart. :thinks:
