Serindë's 2022 Stitching Adventures 24 Dec

Just opened the first door of my De Vere Yarns Advent calendar... a lovely cherry red silk (the actual colour is "glace"!) It's a 60, which means it's about the thickness of 5 strands of DMC, and is a continuous filament silk (no joins; straight from the cocoon). I've another 24 days of this delightfulness! How lucky is that?

I’m interested to see how it behaves with fine evenweave linen and/or Quaker cloth. There are some designs from the Wode Psalter I have my eye on (from 2011/12 when I was involved with that exhibition in Edinburgh).

The Winter Cottage might not quite get finished... I suspect I'll run out of DMC 3371, which is annoying because I was sure I had plenty. On the other hand, it might just be a case of "floss chicken" as I do the roof section which is, unsurprisingly, blues and whites...

Here is the full Advent Calendar. The colours are luscious, and the 24th was, appropriately, gold.
