On our news this evening was the news that Russia has invaded the Ukraine. 'Our' Wonderful talented Lyudmila lives in Kiev as does her family. Kiev is the capital city of that country. Please pray for her and her family as well as the rest of the population. I am unsure about making direct contact with her for many reasons.

I’ve been thinking of her, as well, and am praying she and her family are safe. It’s a scary situation for everyone.

It is a dreadful thing that Putin is inflicting on all of the good people of Ukraine. He is a big bully and there is little that can be done against such over whelming odds, all you can do is to play the long game.

Look after yourself and your family Lyudmila, and "Keep calm and carry on stitching", hopefully Kyiv will be far from the horrors that are unfolding.

I've been in touch with Lyudmila on and off these last few days, and she was asking for prayers from believers. I suspect those have been rattling the gates of heaven for some time, in fact.

Glad to hear that you've been in touch Serinde - I messaged her yesterday but I'm sure she has other things on her mind right now. We prayed for her and her family and country at our house group last night.

To which I also add the continued existence of the sovereign nation of Ukraine, a nation that is both new and very old indeed.

I’m proud to say that Glasgow City Council flew the Ukrainian flag from the City Chambers yesterday. And St Andrews House in Edinburgh was lit in the colors of the Ukrainian flag. Small gestures sometimes matter.
