Serinde wrote: Sat Dec 31, 2022 9:19 pm And I had a message from Lyudmila last week wishing everyone a happy Christmas and New Year, so that’s a good place to start, I think.

Anyone brave enough to have resolutions? :tizzy:
What good news that Lyudmila was able to send a message through. I hope this coming year is much better for her and her fellow Ukranians.

My new year resolution is to "Try not to buy any more cross stitch kits for my stash" Which is probably a good idea as I am expecting a new to me car at the beginning of March which will double the ownership/running costs of my 20 year old car it is replacing. But it will be go nice to have a car that the heating and the A/C actually work in :)

Jo

Note to self: That allows for me to still buy kits to immediately start
Every day we can make a difference :)

2023 Stash & Grab Virtual Pub

The clear-up this morning is not too bad at all. Lexi did party late into the night with all her new mates, so a success, I feel. :applesauce:

Rosey let me know that she loved meeting Lexi and the other feline members last night. She also noted that non feline attendees were very well mannered proving that beings of different backgrounds (and species) can get along just fine. She also let me know that proves that humans are not as well bred as other living beings and shouldn't keep thinking they are superior when they are not.

We had lots of fireworks last night. Rosey doesn't seem to mind them (though she did think a few extra treats would help her get through the night) but I know a lot of people with dogs who have a very hard time. Shirley used to climb between the pillowcase and the pillow to really hide behind a pillow. Same place for thunder storms. Must have been a safe place since she never got hit from lightening.

Looking forward to a lovely 2023 here in the Pub! Great place to start a new year!

Just found a small bag of kitty nibbles behind the cushions on the big sofa in the far corner!!
If Lexi or Rosey are missing any...??
Were they planning on another party this evening?

She'd probably have plans for the partridge in the pear tree. And the turtle doves. And the French hens. And the calling birds.

The swans and the geese might prove a bit of a challenge....

Rosey says she will be more than happy to help her new friend Lexi dealing with winged creatures. As long as they stay away from Pegasus, who is a lot bigger and stronger than they are. And is also far too handsome to hurt.

If both Lexi and Rosey stay at the Stash & Grab for long, they would discover the angels of their better nature! :D

I’m so happy to hear that Lyudmilla is okay. I’ve been worried about her with the lack of updates, so thank you for letting us know.

As for resolutions…I don’t do them. Why put extra pressure on myself? :-)

I resolved, a few years ago, not to make any more new year resolutions. I have kept to that one..!?!

I agree completely with both the statements about Lyudmilla and the attitude toward resolutions.

Congratulations, Richard, for your well-deserved promotion.

Everyone's favourite stuff is either on or behind the bar. And it's a lovely sunny day, so the conservatory is open as is the treehouse (since the steps were cleared of snow).

Thankee most kindly.

Think I'll have a few sips of Crème de Mur. Feels like the sort of day when a strong blackberry liqueur is in order. And maybe some vanilla ice cream to drizzle with the rest of the shot.

Regards,

Richard.

Right, chaps and chapesses. I need a bit of help here betting the S&G ready for Lyudmila's Big Bash Birthday Party. Can someone keep the rabbits away from the daffodils, please. Also, where's the other ladder for hanging this banner!?! I've done a thorough clean, banked up the fire (we've had frost overnight), and all the usual drinks (plus extra marshmallows for the hot chocolate) are behind the bar. Birthday cake in the oven. Whew!
