Jo's Stitching 2023

Post by Steam.Jo »

Happy New Year :whoop:

If you recall I have three, or possibly four pieces under way: TW's Peacock Tapestry, TW's Harvest Sampler, A Vincent Motorcycle and the Fall Fairy. And I am currently working on my Fall Fairy

The weather for the last week has been wet, wet and miserable so I have been working on my Fairy's dress:

This is another of those Dimension Gold pieces where they mix crosses with half stitch and vary the number of threads being used from one up to five. The fives can be really difficult to get through especially if I try to do half stitches on this tough Aida  .

Absolutely beautiful. I cannot imagine stitching with 5 strands unless the fabric is 11 count and not aida if it includes fractional stitches. But the end result is going to be fantastic. Looking forward to more updates on this one!

All those half’s and fulls and different number of threads makes for such a lovely textured picture. In the end, it’s worth the work.

She’s beautiful. Dimensions kits require attention to detail as they use so many different types of stitches and number of strands, but the results are always gorgeous.

Thank you for your kind comments.

I've rounded the bottom and am heading up the left side:

As you can see there is another tree trunk appearing on the left and hopefully with the damp weather we have been having we will see some Fungi soon

:applesauce: :applesauce: Gets more lovely with every update! The detail is stunning. I think I spotted a little butterfly in the bottom right corner? Didn't notice any fungus, which I think is a good thing

I have just realised I forgot to post my weekly update  A few days late...

My excuse is its been cold. While it is only -6C outside again today I will not be working on this as I have my first Tai Chi lesson of the year this morning :tizzy:

I can definitely see the fungi appearing.

This is such a beautiful and colourful design, can't wait to see more.

Have fun at Tai Chi.

:applesauce: :applesauce: Gets more beautiful with each update. The colors are so vibrant.
Since it isn't morning anymore for you, I hope your Tai Chi class went well and that the weather has warmed up a bit.
-6 sounds pretty cold to me. (I know its Celcius and not the same as -6 F, but its still cold no matter what number you give it :cold: )

Very unusual to see a Swallowtail Butterfly after August :thinks:

:applesauce: :applesauce: Better and better with each update! It may be late in the season for the Swallow tail but the colors are perfect for this design. Fits right in!
