Finished Esmee's bib, and got a few useful ideas for other projects while stitching it - win-win :-D (more detail in FoF)

That's worked really well. You realise, I suppose, that you are threatening to develop a "style"...?

:applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: That is sooooo adorable! You can make a fortune if you mass produce this. Just kidding (sort of, because I can see it being oohed and ahed at every baby shower I attend)

Oh dear. This reminds me of our brats.

They only had bib's when eating, and we had plastic bibs. When they didn't like their food, they tried to put it in the scoop in their bib. One day Enya had spaghetti bolognaise, hid some in her bib, then tried to take the bib off by flipping it up in front of her face. Naturally, the spag. bog. went all over her hair and it looked as if her ginger hair was melting off her head. Boy, did she need a bath. Wish I'd taken a photo, but never thought of it.

Sorry, back to the point.
Lovely design, not heading too far in the 'cute' direction, but enough for most to go 'Aww' without me feeling the gag reflex engaged. (Sorry, I'm not good at 'cute' and never have been.)

Regards,

Richard

That would have been a picture worth preserving  (and using as evidence at her wedding....)

I'm with you on the "cute" characters, Richard, but my DIL is very much of the adorable cartoon type. This was as far as I could bring myself to go :-D

Esmee's bib is leading to all sorts of experiments with heavy-weight interfacing! Here is the first, a magnetic floral brooch based on a print by our talented niece Vicky (I have her permission to use the design for embroidery!) More details about the whole process on FoF.

Working on one of the designs for the Crewelwork course - the other two are done, they're the owl and the Bayeux peacock but I needed a Jacobean design for the second project. When the wools I've ordered come in I can work up a stitched model.

This is really cute.

A lot of people do brooches with beads. It requires a pin clasp though as they’re to heavy for a magnet. Also, hair clips, which could also be done with embroidery.

Hmm, I found the battlement couching a bit too overpowering so had a little play:

I had to go back and forth between the photos to see what you had changed. Yet, once I did, I realized how much I liked the second one more. Less cluttered ? not sure that is the right word but I can't think of the word I'm looking for. Its a lovely design. Bright and cheery!

Needed a couple more stitched models for one of the workshops, which was also a good opportunity to refresh my memory about the design. Because the initial counting always seems to take people a long time, I've put in the waste knot and brought the thread up at the starting point on all the kit fabrics - that should give the students more time to actually stitch!

And another stitched model for one of the other workshops - just need to put it in a card.
