Beautiful. They remind me of home. We had quite a few lilac bushes in our yard when I was growing up. They were always among the first flowers to bloom when Spring finally arrived (Chicago. Spring might not show up until May)

That's lovely :applesauce:

It has been a good year for lilacs as we have not (yet) had any late frosts.

I didn't manage to finish another of the projects I took with me on holiday, but got quite a way with project #2:

Jo has inspired me to have a go at the Teresa Wentzler needle guardian - I found that I have pretty much all the threads etc needed except for one shade of DMC (which I lent long-term to a stitching friend who subsequently went into a home with severe dementia, and the threads got rather lost); and as I bought that I also added the Dinky Dyes silk even though I already have that shade in stranded cotton  Well, it seemed a shame not to make the most of the postage...

When those two have been added to the box, and when I've finished the little hardanger project, I'll start this as my when-I-want-a-relaxing-project project :-D

TW relaxing? I think we have different definitions! Her designs are so beautiful... and complicated in a busy way. :P

 I wouldn't tackle her larger designs for relaxation, but this is a smaller one and fairly straightforward - although some of the prescribed blends look a little strange on first inspection, I'll see how they turn out when stitched :thinks:

Don't leave it in the stash for too long Mabel

I've been having a little stitch on mine for relaxation  Not helped when I realised I had mixed up some of the blue/green thread pairs (my chart uses different symbols and somehow I missed out the 157/3813 pairing so the right hand wing is a little dark. Maybe that wing is in the shade )

Definitely a fella the dragon on Needle guardian. It might need a second in female dragon colours to make a pair :thinks: I bet I could find a use for her :D

Just before cutting - all the eyelets now complete. The cutting pattern needs careful counting so I thought I'd better not do that last thing at night...

Yes, the Victoria Sampler Beyond Cross Stitch series is lovely - I don't think they do the kits anymore but they still do the designs.

I'm going to mount them in some purple aparture cards - it's not quite the right purple but it'll do.
