Take care Serinde.

I doubt if you're in the direct track of the storm, but look after yourself & hope you stay safe.

Thanks, Richard. We’ll have high winds (50+mph) and rain, but it’s the east that’s really taking a battering. Wendy Wombat might be a bit ruffled in the Borders, too. The whole east coast is just battening down the hatches. A red warning.

Currently, I’m staying with relatives in leafy Suffolk. We had a bit of rain, but not much in terms of wind. However, we’ve postponed going north tomorrow to Scarborough due to the wind speeds and rain. Our whole travel corridor is under a yellow warning now. Sheesh!

I’ve been avoiding the news lately  and hadn’t seen anything about this storm. I hope that y’all stay safe. Since my geographic knowledge of Scotland isn’t what it should be, I am hoping that you and your family are safe, Serinde and that Wendy and hers are as well. When the govt starts to give evacuation orders, is when my stomach starts to churn. Know, that I am sending lots of wishes and prayers that you come through this with little if any harm.

We were in Pitlochry, which is north of Perth, for a few days.
When we saw how the Storm was developing we left early on Thursday. The report was that the main bridge over the River Forth was closed and we would have to take one of the lower bridges to the west. Luckily it was only closed to high sided vehicles and we were home early afternoon.
Today it's chucking it down and very windy but all okay here.
Serious flooding still a real problem in north and east Scotland.
We have some flooding in the garden but so far all well.

Stay safe coming back north Serinde, thank you for your P/M :D

@ WW: no problem! Have to look out for our wombatty pals, after all.

Down here in Suffolk, Stowmarket (! I mean, really?) had made the top 6 places with the most rainfall — all of 59mm at 9am (they have since been knocked out of the running). But I’m here to report, that the village I’m in is flooded along one of the roads leading to it. No one inconvenienced particularly, but impressive puddles along the road. Be fine, if it weren’t for the HUGE lorries trying to avoid roadworks on the A14. :x Exciting for the locals!

By comparison, Waterside Perth had 164mm at 11.40. (Where are my flippers?)

So glad no-one was seriously affected.

Our garage flooded a bit as the drain in the road outside was overwhelmed, but that's pretty normal. Otherwise we had fairly nice, sunny weather. A lot of rain at night, which I slept through, but otherwise pleasant sunny weather. Hard to credit what other parts of the country were receiving.

Regards,

Richard
