So here is the finished MS Cat. I will not be doing another one, I hate everything about this pattern the squashed stitches are ridiculous they make no real difference to the design. All of the back stitching is done between squares and none of them come anywhere a hole and they are hard to count out with as small as the design is. I will have to make a different present for my son as I will not go crazy with this design any more. I definately will not do amother Margaret Sherry. There are to many other designs that don't resort to these stupid squashed stitches and they still look wonderful so I have many others to choose from.

It may have been a pain to do, but it's come out lovely!

Just wondering, but you know how I sometimes put in fractionals when the original doesn't have them, well, couldn't you do the same thing but in reverse with this one, and just put in full cross stitches and move the backstitch a bit?

Sorry this one was so aggravating! It is cute, though. Hopefully you'll find something that will work better.

It is really cute Rose, but I do understand your frustration at stitches that are not needed in the grand scheme of things

So I have started on the gift for my daughters boy friend. How long will it take for you to figure out what it is going to be. :D

I'm glad you finished the MS, Rose. It does look very effective, but you're right to say you won't do any more if you didn't enjoy it. As you say, there are so many more patterns - and this is meant to be fun

I must live around to many musicians, the first thing I thought of was a guitar neck  over to sane people now

A ladder? Or, if the colours have been so chewed up by the camera, a candy cane?

:thinks:
That's hard Rose... I must admit my first thought was the sme as Jilly, so if it isn't a guitar I'm stumped.

I took a picture to show the progress but the lighting is not good at night and the picture looks terrible so in the morning I will take a picture in better light and give you a posting. It really is looking good.

Kalen has a guitar of his own and it is a dark purple with a bit of marbleing effect to it so I have used the dark purple varigated thread that I used in the Cats and Cups Project and my daughter says it looks really good and almost like the guitar so I hope he will like the finished project. Funny I was not very thrilled with the color and wondered what I would ever do with it and here a project just falls right into my lap and I will be able to use it. :)

Cool! (Sorry, that was the first word that came to my mind.) I think the purple varigated looks amazing on the guitar! :applesauce:

Wow, that's great progress, and I love the way you're using the variegated threads in such different projects :applesauce: :applesauce: !

I would give you an update and show how little floss I need to finish the bottom of the guitar but my computer has a split personality at the moment. Finally got the service out to upgrade and that all went well but he wanted $200 to run the new cable under the floor. Because it is a crawl space they charge that for inconvenience well no thanks we can run it our self. are you kidding me. So half of the computer is in the new place *I rearranged the livingroom over the weekend* and the main connection is still at the old location so I can at least stay connected to the old cable. I will get pictures up as soon as possible.
