I haven't read that particular one, although I've read a LOT of his earlier stuff (and his Bachman books etc). I was an avid reader some years ago, and he was one of my faves.

As for this project, I've made some more progress on the second panel, but I'm having some difficulty uploading to Photobucket, so can't post any pics at the moment.

EDIT : The project as of Saturday am

Well I've just done almost 2 hours stitching to finish the second panel... it's great being able to bring small projects to work when it's quiet, cos I can basically get paid to stitch. 8)
All I need now is to get some fibre filler from home, and stitch the two panels together.

EDIT : Just finished both panels tonight, Sat pm / Sun am

I'm hoping to at least make a start on stitching the two halves together tonight.
I'll have to order some of that fiber filler from fleabay too - I couldn't find any spare at home

As a mini update, I just took delivery of a pack of polyester fibre filler - so will hopefully be resuming work on this over the next few days

My first biscornu, completed last night

I wouldn't want a Saville Row tailor to examine my seam work, but I'm quite pleased with the results

If anything the colours are even more vibrant "in the flesh" :D I'm pleased with it, and considering doing a number of small themed ones as Xmas tree decorations.

The beginning of the first seam and the end of the last one were a little fiddly, but on the whole it was quite easy. I read thru the advice on this page before I started, but really it looks a lot more difficult than it is.
