Fireman Stitch-A-Long

Post by lwelizabeth »

So, I was finally able to upload ONE picture of my stitching this morning..I hate that MY computer won't read my SD card but my parent's computer will. It makes uploading my piccies to the web quite difficult since I actually have to remember my passwords to places (like Photobucket) when my computer automatically fills them in for me. Anyway..I'm done ranting.

This pattern is from Patterns Online, and I'm making it for my dad since he is a Lt. Fireman for our city. I'm close to being halfway done, which is exciting since I've been working on this since June! I was hoping to have it done by his birthday this past June (I am an ambitious gal, lol), but I really do think I may get it done in time for Christmas in a few months if I stitch on it for a little bit each day. This is what I have so far:

Image

I was going to finish the border first in its entirety before going to the inside pictures but....I got bored. So I switched and decided to do a couple of them before going to back to finish the border. :wip:

This is a lovely project - I like that there are individual boxes with different pictures inside. I bet your Dad will be well pleased with it. You're making good progress and you've still got more than 3 months until Christmas, so keep at it and I'm sure you'll make it.

This is a great project! I've got 2 firefighters in my family (uncle & cousin), but I don't think they're really into homemade crafty things. I look forward to watching this one grow.

Well, I've finished the little mini picture of the fire extinguisher and the fire hydrant, and I went and am done with the border. :D Really happy about that, and I would post pictures but I've lost my SD card...which makes pictures a bit difficult, lol. I promise to post some as soon as I find it though, cleaning my room is at the top of my list for tomorrow!

And yes, Amanda, I am using 14ct.

 Well, I have pictures now...does that help? They aren't great shots, but it's better than nothing. Finished the little pic of the hose and only 3 small(ish) pictures to finish and then the words in the border. I'm hoping to have it done by the end of the week so I can start my ballet piece..
